Seems the rift may be slowing thawing.

Collo will invite Elliott back to Optus Oval to be part of the celebration for the last game at the hallowed turf, against Melbourne in round 9.

I've posted this on TBV as well. Does that mean I'm going to jail????

No harm in having Jack as an invited guest to the last hurrah at Optus.

We must show unity, both at the club and online forum level. :wink:

yes, its about saying goodbye isn't it, to all the good things and the bad...

Standing on tins in the outer as a kid (they were steel in those days and I could get three end on end for a pretty good view);

Watching the Blues nail the hawks with Manning Clarke on the outer wing (pre stand);

The blues in the crowd - good old fashioned fisticuffs;

That urinal under the scoreboard;

Fitzroy games;

Magro's shirtfront on Jezza;

Kouta's day out against west Coast;

The felling of SOS;

George Harris and the boardroom split;

Big Jack and (insert whatever you need to);

the walk to the ground past the cemetary;

the Kent before and after;

Fitzpatrick and wasting time at the memebers end against the Bumbers;

The sound of the song after a victory.

God, I could go on and on......

But whatever we should all be there to say goodbye.

I would be nice to have Jack back after all that has happened in our Carlton community I think it might bring some closure having him there at our last "home" game ever.

Jack Elliot was president for 20 years of which 17 were pretty successful for this club. He (like many) didn't see the change coming through in the 80's and never moved on - we paid the price. He was arrogant and could be rude true, but you could never doubt Jack was Carlton through and through. The events of the last 4 years have been a sorrowful time for many at the club but I sense the wheel is now starting to turn.

Dennis Pagan - Jacks last recruit, would we have got him without Jack?

He's got $50 in the bank account - Optus entry's less than that.

I think the cooling off between COllo and Jack is a good thing for the Club. We need to be as unified as possible, and minimise any damaging issues within the Club.

You never know, there may be some Jack lovers out there who have refused to buy a membership since his departure.

I reckon it's fantastic, and a lot of the people on all of these 'Sybill' sites could learn something from Collo here.
