just heard this from someone else also - where did you hear it from? I was told 'Thornton has quit the blues' - if this is true I am disgusted that we would let this happen, he has soldiered away in our backline on his own and now that he is getting better we let him go - pathetic

he wants out because we are bloody not offering him enough! Pick 22 isn't enough, too much of a gamble - imagine our backline without Thornton!

Just been informed he has quit the club.

He never had intentions to sign as has said that he needed change because he was losing the passion to play on.

If he wants out we need to get Hawthorn's first pick for him.

If true - Great work T-Bird... now the Hawks are holding all the cards...

Been informed by who, Melvey? How good is your source?

I'm not questioning that you've been given info, more that it flies in the face of what's been being said over the last week or so here, ie: that he wanted to stay.

yep, it's time to play hardball - otherwise we just re-draft him in the PSD - is that how it works? If we get a crap pick and nothing else for this I won't be impressed

Let's see how much Hawthorn want him

Collingwood wanted Stevens too.

I'll be sorry to see him go, but if we can get pick 6 for him that'll make me a little less upset.

someone down at the club who informs me...... said to me he has never going to sign he has lost the passion and desire toplay and it has nothing to do with money

He almost left 2 years ago when melbourne made an offer.

I been told T-bird is very much self centred and a spoilt brat, very stubborn and arrogant.

I agree. It's one thing to say "I want out, please trade me to the Hawks", it's another to quit the club and ruin any bargaining position we may have had.

I hope Melbourne comes to the party with pick 12 so the Hawks at least have to put a good offer on the table.

Need to get atleast pick6 from Hawthorn else we are starting all over again with another speculative pick. Hawthorn received two top picks for Hay & Thompson, I think the least they can do is return what their belief is for KP players .... Pick6 & Pick24.

They won't offer us pick 6. It'll be their next pick (22) plus some player they don't want. We'll either take it or let him walk to the PSD. Then what do we do- pick him up again & pay him what he wants?

Sounds like the players are real happy being at Carlton.
