Reckon the players to watch from the Bullies are: Hahn, Murphy, Faulkner, and Johnson.

These players were exceptional last week against the Aints.

At the same time I think they need to keep a close watch on our guys, particularly our midfield and forward line. Bullies look weak in the back half, and I think this is where the Lance/Fev show will come to the fore.

Blues by 19 points

Let me just quickly say, you may tend to underrate some of our players.

By no means do I think we will win, but I think the danger men will be Hahn, Gilbee, Cooney and possibly Bandy.

While he hasn't been in form, Bandy is very tough to match up on because of his height and athleticism.

I didn't particularly notice it last week, but everybody talking about flooding probably means they did, but I think the main think that will give the Dogs a chance is the run from the backline.

My tip is Carlton from anywhere from 10-20 points, who do you blokes think will play on Whitnall and Fevola?

My tips are Hargrave/Morgan on Fevola and Harris/Rawlings on Whitnall.

Agree UJ. Prender might get the gig on Darcy around the ground.

Last time we played the doggies French was kicking the crap out of Darcy then buggered his back. Where Darcy killed us after that point in the game from memory was floating up forward to take marks. I think Prenda was trying to match him in the backline that day and couldn't manage it.

It's usually Kouta who manages to negate Darcy around the ground.

Worried about Hahn, can certainly play, Cooney is starting to hit his straps.

Dogs lack of height is worrying however and may be exploited.

My real concern is our lack of ball winners - West, Cooney, Hahn feeding to Giansiracusa, Murphy, etc. will kill us if we don't get in and get the ball first.

I'm tempted to play Prender as a ruck against Darcy - and play another midfielder.

I think French will ruck aginst Darcy and then Prenda will tag the bulldog champ around the ground.
Hahn is a good player and is a strong lad and needs the right matchup in terms of physcial strength. Maybe Glen Bowyer or Corey McGrath who both tackle well could be possibilities....not Simon Wiggins
Prefer to save Bannister for a more athletic type....
Not sure the Doggies are that short Clem....Darcy, Bandy, Will" the block of flats" Minson, Rawlings, Grant, Harris, Skipper, Morgan...they have enough talls to cover us...

an interesting game

but i rate Melbourne alot higher than i rate the Bulldogs

and at times against Melbourne we where simply better than them.

With the exception of 3 players (Johnston, Rivers cant think of the third) they where at full strength and at times we where whiping the floor with them. We had you could argue 5 of our first team players out so that more than equates and evens things up. Kouta, Campo, Archie, Digby and Fish are the players i was mentioning. Johnson is probably a little rough not to be considered an out for us as well.

Bulldogs should be a challenge, yes, but we should win comfortably.

Ohh Yeah - The arrogance is back

4+ Goals

Lack of height?

Darcy, Bandy, Grant, Rawlings, Harris, Bowden and Minson doesn't really equate to lack of height.

Welcome AC.

Great to see more opposition members here. If you can build up half as much cred as fellow doggy Sedat you'll be sweet.

Agree with you about the height - IIRC the doggies were the 'tallest' team in the comp last year - Jarusa will either back me up or shoot me down with the appropriate stats, I'm sure

Nah you're right, Deano.
They were the tallest side in the comp in 2004.
By adding guys like Street, Rawlings, Morgan etc

Agree about the Morgan vs Fev matchup.
Morgan took him to the cleaners in 2004 and it'll be interesting to see who does eventually go to Fev.

Apologies for height - in 2003, they were shorter than us...must have forgotten about their 2003 and 2004 recruiting.

Although, to be fair to Fevola that game, he was having the dummy spits, and Morgan was very lucky to take advantage of that.

And for any side with a 210 cm log like Peter Street, I wouldn't be surprised to see them high in the height ranks like us.

IIRC Fev had a Barry Crocker last time against the dogs. If he's got his head right their matchup on him will need to be spot on.

The only 2 guys we have to worry about tomorrow night are Fevola and Whitnall, and just our guys in general...because the Bulldogs are just about the worst side in the competition with the worst gameplan and we'd have to lose the game which we did last year, not them win it

I'm sorry Carlton fans, but I may seem a bit hypocritical, but there is always one in an all team board.

What a terribly inaccurate thing to say, last time we met, you were outplayed and beaten well. This so called worst gameplan managed to beat a better St Kilda side, and will give you a run for your money.

While probably not winning, the Dogs shopuld fight it out, and put to rest that totally ignorant comment you just made.

I refuse to comment on that.

See I would have said the same thing a few weeks back.
But there is something about the Bulldogs.
Something that tells me that they won't go away that easily.

We all thought we'd steam roll them in 2004 and look what they did to us.

Never fear mate, I told you that you are much better than them......

Well done....
