I hope Fev and that are talking too him, his been through the hard times, as a Carlton Rookie its now time for him too start enjoying the better times over the next couple of years.

Carlton stuff up the Pagan board meeting, and protract discussions with out of contract players.

At least St Kilda end Thomas and no one knew, and re sign Goddard - bang!

I rate Fisher highly. He is just about the best overhead mark in the comp.Name me 5 guys better than him in this area.

OK I will play. How about Brett Burton, Luke McPharlin, Adam Hunter, Leo Barry and Matthew Richardson? Or if you don't like those there is Daniel Bradshaw, Nathan Thompson, Nick Riewoldt, Josh Fraser or Brad Johnson. That is 10. What do I win? ;)

Fish is equal of all of them except Fraser .You had credibility until you named him. And Fish is equal to Riewoldt in the kicking stakes. There is nobody equal to him except the one guy you missed. Johnathon Brown. So you lose.

Imagine talking about a kid like Fish as he isnt much worth... billionaire mentality.
Pretty extravagent view of footy.
Youre meant to get rid of the blokes with NO UPSIDE. (Read Lance and Kouta)
and you keep the players that add another dimmension to your game..(and develop them)

There is that word again.. DEVELOP.. what does it mean???

Wouldn't get rid of either of them. While Fish's goal kicking is fairly iffy, he is a good young player and probably a step below the likes of Betts, Simmo, Josh and Murph in terms of elite young talent we have at the club.

Carlton need to offer them a reasonable three year contract and put it all to bed.

I'm sick of all the activity at Carlton being reported in the media.

Brett Thornton loves the blues and wants to play only for the Blues...

Hawthorn and Brisbane have thrown more money at him than Carlton to lure him, especially Brisbane (throwing big bucks his way)...

I don't think he will go and Carlton will work out a deal as they can ill afford to lose a defender and Brett wants to remain a blue more than anything.

My mail is he will stay.

I think a poor list means a few over rate what we've got. Fish might be a good mark but he's a long way off being of a great deal of value to us long term. If his trade is kicking goals (and he ain't no backman) then his kicking counts for plenty.

Would he get a game in a decent team?

I'm on the 2 year contract bandwagon.

You're kidding right? One of our few decent players who would actually be worth anything at the trade table. Has more value than Kouta and Lappin combined.

T-Bird 3 years, Fisher 2 years. Thornton getting less than Koutoufides is a disgrace.

NO! No more lengthy contracts.

As for Fisher he kicked 34.14 (71%) pre knee reconstruction and has kicked 20.19 (51%) post knee reconstruction.

If it were up to me Kouta would not be playing in 2007, and Lappin would be getting plenty of games in the ressies.

Thornton had a very good second half of the season and a very ordinary first half of the season, adds up to an average season.

Had a grand total of 7 tackles in 16 games in 2005. So what you say? Have a look at how many players in the AFL average less than 1 tackle a game (I'll give you a hint it is less than 10%), and then have a look at how many of those are defenders (even less). Still averaged less than 1 tackle a game this year as well (his whole career in fact).

Our supporters over-rate our list tremendously.

He would struggle to command a spot in a top 8 team, and he was arguably our best backman this year. That is how bad we are.

Every Carlton player has to stop this media negotiation bullshit, every player. How many other teams have this happen?

It does seem that Mr MrConville has read the Dave Allison songbook.

Very ordinary form but journo fodder.

Every now and then you ring someone in your black book and the guts spills...

How many tackles did he have in 2006?

18 in 22 games, you should check how many defenders have such a low tackle count.

Look at how many teams in the top 8 would like a dependable key defender. Imagine him playing alongside a decent side and with a decent midfield giving support....

Don't sell him short. I bet you'd trade him for a 3rd round pick

He was also a bit like the Australian batsmen this year as well.

They don't have to face the best bowlers in the world.

Thornton doesn't have to play on the best FF in the league anymore.
