What colour is it?

I know its not orange but those freckly pale reddy browns generally qualify as rednuts.

I've finished a first past at the game reviews for the whole of the 1897 season. A couple of rounds are missing, because either they weren't in The Argus, or my copy was too blurred to read. I'll try and grab all The Age reviews at some point, and flesh out the reviews a little more. But for the time being we at least have some history recorded for the first year of our VFL history.

For those interested, I particularly liked this section of the Round 13 write-up from the Argus:

"Carlton and St. Kilda played a characteristic Carlton-St. Kilda game at Prince's Park to decide which of them should not be last. It was a benefit to football that the issue was so unimportant, for had they played for first place with proportionate passion the strain on the accomodation of the adjacent hospitals would have been enormous."

That would be superb. Anything you can provide would be most useful for the Blueseum - any pics of him, his views on his favourite games, highlights of his career....anything really.

Impressive that there is a family link - great to hear.

Hi all

There's been a fair few people join-up over the last month which is great to see. As we're all smart people (or claim to be!), some of us have different ideas as to how the Blueseum should be set up. Before you make a structural change (ie moving things from one page to another), can I ask that the writer raise the issue in the BZM forums for discussion? I understand its a wiki site but its still also a site that the Club will formally take over (when thet are finished with other things). Anyway, please raise an issue before you cut as its a community exercise.

More importantly, I'd like to propose a change to the Debut / Delisting stuff. I think this would work better if set up like the Brownlow Votes page ie a Cover page with all Seasons on it, and then downlinks to each year of summary changes. Each summary change year would then link back to the relevant year.

Without doing it this way, the pages will get bulky. I think, unlike the trade / rookies pages, bulky won't work here - the trade pages are more for summary of info rather than comparing year by years, if you know what I mean.

Any thoughts? If people agree, I can make the change relatively quickly and copy over all the info that tb24 and Jarusa have already put in.

M

Molsey I was going to make an alteration to the section on Rohan Welsh - I wanted to add the part about him breaking his leg on an end of season trip in L.A - I just can't recall if it was post 93 or later on? I believe it is important as I think it was that incident that really stopped him from having a decent career - also not sure if he actually played at Essendon* or not?

Yes it is very important kingkerna - he would have played more games and hung around a while longer otherwise. From memory it deprived him of his leap so it was a pretty big blow. Was it the year before he changed to jumper #3 from #38.... the #3 was supposed to be a change of luck?

Molsey for some reason I always thought it was on the end of season trip after we lost the 93 GF. The number change was late 90's wasn't it? Either way I used to really enjoy watching him and thought without the injuries he would have been a solid player - can you confirm my Essendon* question?

Look up the 'Also at Essendon*' page in the Blueseum under Players / Time at Other Clubs and if his name is there, he played at Essendon*. FWIW I dont think he did. The Locker Room / Squad Locker Room will also tell you which jumper nos he wore and when.

I cant open the BZM though todya...programming error?

Current players need to have their profiles updated for 2006. If anyone's interested in writing about the 2006 seasons of any of the players please feel free.

Off Season is Blueseum Season

Little bored now that the Blues are not playing for another 6 months?

Want to still feel part of the club?

Want to be the first person to add to the new Bryce Gibbs page?

Look through your old scrapbooks, look through your old footy records and add to the player profiles and the game reviews and all the stuff that makes up the Blueseum.

Become a CFC volunteer and feel that warm inner glow of satisfaction knowing you are helping out your club when they really need it.

Did Paul Tuddenham play any senior games? I have a memory of him doing so, but couldn't find a reference to him at the Blueseum.

Deano, no records of him playing a senior game according to the Stephen Williamson data.

His name is still in the Squad Locker Room though, as a man lucky enough to be given a navy blue jumper.

I am 99% certain he played one solitary game.

I have a heap of info on Reece Langan who I was sure we drafted in 1988, but he only played two reserve practice matches so I don't suppose he deserves to have any info in the blueseum.

I reckon he played at senior level.

Reece Langan sounds interesting!

I'm pretty sure it was only the one game, but I have no proof.

Reece Langan is playing up in Noosa (though he's played everywhere it seems) and from memory is aiming for his 10th premiership at a club this year...that's like one every second year for his entire career.
