People are deluding themselves here in a big way. Now I hate the f#$kers as much as anyone but their list has so much more depth and talent its ridiculous - thats why they smash us by 15 goals every time they play us these days!

Their young players sh!t all over ours and to suggest we are going to win a flag before them based on the list at the moment is sheer lunacy.

Doesn't take long to drop. When they lose Harvey, Hudhton and Gehrig etc they'll fall but they won't have Murphy, Bryce or Josh K etc that will improve them.

Prediction - 2008
Carlton - 7th
Saints - 11th

Ah now I see why I'm always confused. There is a "Dukes" and a "The Duke" on this site. Are you both named after that pub on the way to the MCG?

On SEN this morning a punter rang in and said that Harvey had been interviewed twice in the past for the Saints job and had felt he was treated poorly both times. Apparently refused to be interviewed as he is not interested in the job. For what its worth, Watson said that the Saints arent rebuilding, they are ready for a crack right now and need an experienced coach. He said that he thought Pagan was the guy they should go after. Just conjecture on SEN, but food for thought??

On reflection - I think their list is ordinary at best. you look at what they will lose this year;
Peckett
Thompson
Harvey?
Powell

Limited lifespan on;
Gehrig
Hudghton
Milne
Voss
Hammill
Baker

Serious Qs on;
Rix
Blake
Fiora
McGough

Yet to fully develop;
Goddard
Clarke
Clarke
Fischer (s)
etc etc

Leaves;
Reiwoldt
Kosi
Hayes
Ball
Del Santo

In 2 years we'll be above them on the ladder :lol: :lol: :lol:
The way the system works, everyone has deficienies in their list. Very few complete sides, like those Brisbane sides, around. All in all I believe the Saints have the best list going. Seeing their premiership "window" is open but may come to an end soon, let's hope they sh1t themsleves in regards to an untried coach and take an experienced one like Pagan off our hands.

I think the Saints will choose Longmire on the back of the success the Swans have had and the glowing references he gets from Roos and others.
He is a today coach rather than a yesterdays man and if you listen to Barry Hall he credits Longmire for a lot of the Swans success and attention to detail in the forward line...

Stkilda with all their gun players fit and firing would challenge for the premeirship.....Kossie, Hamill, Hayes and Maguire are good footballers but have been missing or only half fit and you cant win flags on that basis...
I would rejoicing if I was Stkilda....their board have made the right move IMHO unlike our board who need removing...

You're probably right on this one.

I'm not happy with this post!

Barry Mitchell IS NOT a back-stabber. I think even Pagan knows that! Barry Mitchell has been made out to be the bad guy in this situation!

I didn't mean to imply that he is a back-stabber all day, every day... But you can't argue that he hasn't helped create doubt over Denis' abilities... How do you know what he says to the players behind closed doors?

Coaches getting lovey-dovey with players is the new way to secure a job these days. Look at GT & St Kilda.... Whatsherface was on the Today Show this morning saying how Roo was distraught over the sacking of HIS coach... Never mnid the fact that GT knew stuff-all about footy and stole a talented list from a couple of decent coaches.

Sometimes, the old-skool way is the best method to push a group of young blokes with more fashion sense than footy sense to go the extra mile...... You can bet your balls that there is no King-of-the-ring down at St. Kilda.

I think they'll chose Longmire too. He's a much better prospect than Mitchell. Maybe if we had've put a number of candidates forward in front of the board including Longmire, we could have had his services rather than just demanding Mitchell take over.

I hope Longmire isn't pinning his hopes on Maguire, Hammil, Hays or Kosi to take him to glory next year - history shows thew wont get much out of these 4 players. Harvey will most likely retire and Gehrig is almost gone too.

The only thing that could make this last few weeks acceptable is if Pagan went to St.Kilda.

I'm aware there's a 0.00000000000000000000000000000000001% chance of it happening, but boy, I would be absolutely stoked if this happened.

AND

I wouldn't bother sueing Pagan.... I would be personally wrapping him up in a bow and handing him to them!

"Here you go Rod... he's your problem now....."

THEN we could actually interview the right way and get the best man for OUR job...

and THEN we won't have to worry about wasting our pick 1 on Hansen or our PSD pick on Gardiner.

GOD OF FOOTBALL! PLEASE SEND PAGAN TO THE SAINTS!!!!!! PLEASE!!!

Pffft! As if we'd let Pagan break his contract to coach the Saints. :roll:

Who is the moron that keeps naming Pagan as a potential coach of St Kilda?

If Pagan tries to walk after being involved in last week's events I'll string him up.

Don't let the anti goddard sentiment on this site get in the way of the facts

The inside word is StKilda's new coach has lost the players.

See you could bottle that ambiguity. That statement could mean so many things.

Don think the Saints will be taking Pagan...Caro said on White line fever that Denis has lost his marbles with regards to recruiting Gardiner and cant believe his thinking....not a glowing reference.
