Fat prick Smith makes some interesting points about Sticks and last weeks decision to keep Pagan.

Sticks asked for that and got it. No surprises there.

He could have shown he was bigger and just let it go, but not old grumble-bum Patrick.
The old chestnut "systematically rorted the salary cap", it's five years ago.
FFS move on man, we are sure doing hard time for it. If he could have mentioned Collo's conflict of interest I would have given him full points.
So only three Chefs hats.
Lets face it he's just another rotund Essendonian :-D

You obviously missed him on SEN earlier. Gave a another whack to Sticks and Collo for conflict of interest etc.

Also mentioned that the media were 99.9% accurate on the crape they reported last week. When Andy Maher asked what part was incorrect he said only the part about the AFL intervening in our coaching matters may not have been all that accurate.

@#$%&! OFF!!! That was one of THE main issues of the week. The AFL could tell Carlton who was going to be coach was THE big one. Now (as I suspected) it turns out to be completely fabricated!!

They're all a bunch of $%^%$ts.

If the australian newspaper didn't pay SEN for their spot - no one would know who the @#$%&! he was.

The problem we have is not Fatprick because noone knows who he is.. the problem is the other reporters...

I'd like to hit Fatpat with a big navy blue stick.

With a carlton symbol embossed on it. So he wears the symbol around on his face like a victim of THE PHANTOM

He writes a lot of shit, but this para stands out as probably the most insightful thing he's ever written:

Fatprick Smith wrote:
Smorgon and Malouf are the men who must take responsibility, along with Kernahan, for having the club savaged by commentators, members and supporters alike. The AFL is aghast at the shambolic manner the club handled the attempted Pagan assassination. Kernahan has lost respect for his mismanagement of the Pagan case. He lost even more for not having the courage to accept responsibility for the mess and then turned himself into a figure of ridicule for absolving Smorgon and Malouf of blame for perhaps the worst piece of club administration in memory.

He nails it there.

I don't know why Carlton people keep defending the club. We're a shambles.

How can the vote go from 7-3 to 0-10 in an instant? Surely Mitchell's presentation wasn't that bad?

This Board is divided, it leaks, it lacks guts, and it keeps changing it's mind (which shows it doesn't understand football and/or is compromised, take your pick).

Forgive me if this has been confirmed elsewhere but where did you find out that it was 3 - 7 then 10 - 0 and when you say an instant, what do you mean? Like 30 seconds, 10 minutes, 2 hours :? ?? I have no idea as I was not there, were you??

Duke, don't let the facts get in the way of a good story....
If the Board voted 7-3 to sack PAgam...."Resolution passed...next item on the Agenda"

There are three things
1) what was "gumma" happen
2) what actually happened
3) What the press/Rumours/internet says happened.

TFrighteningly they areprobably mutually exclusive.

My big beef is the fact that all of this crap was "allowed" to be thrown around....
Yes...board leaks
.....calling the press for a 7pm press conference and then showing up at 11...(can you imagine the stories that were 'generated' just in that time?)..."interviewing" Mitchell with evryone knowing...etc etc...

Fundamental management just lost....

You have a message, you enunciate that message in the clearest possible terms, you act in a way that shows support for that message!

(Can't see any of this occurring)

While I despise Smith I think Sticks asked for it and actually got off easy...after the farcical events of last week and Kernahans childish effort at the B&F he needs to take a good look at himself and start fixing the credibility of the club especially in the media.

The media are a neccessary part of the game and clever clubs and administrators use them to their advantage..we dont..the club doesnt revolve around Steven Kernahan and he needs to understand that.

Geelong have had their troubles but if you see how their operators like Brian Cook handle the media its a different story....he can diffuse a issue like Scarlett and Cresswell.. unlike Sticks who just inflamed what was already a woeful situation. Get the media on side and repair the brand name that should be Sticks mission...the B&F was an opportunity that he and the club missed to make a start.

I don't think he's the right person to do that though. I think we need someone who isn't so emotionally attached to the club.

I love the guy and what he's brought to the Blues over the years, but I think it's time he was no longer involved. Get him back in occassionally to talk to players or for one on one coaching, but get him off the board ASAP.

Do you believe that the AFL intervened as reported by Jim Wilson?? If you answer no then you have to say that everything the media have whipped up is in question.

The communication skills from the club weren't the greatest, but why do we owe it to the media to be there on time and with all the information they think they need.

It bring back memories of that goose Tony whatsisname from nine out the front of PP after the Norman/Angwin deal. Two hours after they had been exposed and the senior players had decided to bust them both, Jones was demanding the club talk to the media and announce the players sacking to give him and 30 other scummers a story.

@#$%&! OFF JONES - stick your story up your arse it's about the welfare of the players - not about filing your story neatly so you can get home for dinner.

I've heard Jim Wilson's crap first hand in relation to a story on Shane Warne. He left a message on the mobile phone of a friend of mine, and let me tell you, he is filthy. He will stop at nothing to get a story and has now been excluded by Warnes management from future dealings.

Just because he's a Carlton supporter - don't think he wouldn't sell his grandmother if he could further his name.

The media can make and break you and your sponsors are not interested in whether Jim Wilson is right or wrong ....they dont want their name associated with a crap image....
The average punter reads the press listens to the radio and a bad news story is a bad news story regardless of the facts....Wilson, Smith, Caro, Robinson....do we have anyone on our side...NO......they cant all be wrong....thats how the public would see it...repair our image and get the media back on our side is the go....it wont happen though as selfish interests prevail and the club isnt being put first and remember the club is all the members/supporters .....not just a pile of bricks and a board table with a few faceless men/woman....something our present group of directors have forgotten..

Sticks has made himself an easy target.

His behaviour is a symbol of what we have become.
