I thought this thread was about Harf, but perhaps my PC is not working right because I keeping on reading about Brownie and the board. ;)

I was fortunate enough to hear Harf's rant as I was in the car today just at the right time. He queried how the board could go down one direction one day and then go in the totally opposition the next day. What brought about the change? There is obviously some missing information that we all need to hear. He also highlighted how badly the board handled the situation.

I would love a guy like Harf on our board. He has a great feel for the industry that we all love. He is well respected, well liked and level-headed (which puts him above so many others around the place).

He may be articulate and all that, but who the bloody hell made him Carltons spokes person. He is a Hawthorn man for goodness sakes. Dont get me wrong, he is right, but he has no right to add fuel to our embarrasing fire.

He has been talking shit ever since he came to Carlton, like he has any passion for us, he could not give a shit.............

Clever move politically speaking, but talk about trying to create mayhem.

I won't be voting for Brown or anyone who reveals themselves to be behind the idea should they put their name up for election.

Hope you can gather up the support against Brown and Co as they would be a shoe in to win in a vote if it comes to a board challenge.

I'm not up to speed with the rules regarding ticket challenges, if the ticket wins do they all get in, or only the ones who won their head to head voting?

:?

I would love t osee Harford replace Mitchell as the Bullants Coach. He looks like he is equipped with both the football smarts and leadership skills to make success of it. However I read somewhere that he may be poached by SEN to call the games.

It is good to see in such times of adversity whilst the club implodes Individuals who can handle themselves admirably.

I agree with that observation. Harf has really taken us to heart. I can tell that and I have never spoken to him.

Harf is not Carlton's spokesperson. He is just passionate about his adopted footy club and the friends that he has made there. There is nothing wrong with that.

And on the issue of Carlton's spokesperson who is it? Collingwood has Neil Balme, Essendon* has had Robert Shaw in the past, St. Kilda has Andy Thompson with his weekly spot, Rocket Eade has a weekly show and represents the Bulldogs, Terry has his Tuesdays with Terry for the Tigers. What do we have? Where do we go out to the media? And I am not talking about Fev's stints on TFS. Every club has their representative there.

Which means he's more likely to tell it like it is and not "spin it over". You prefer he talks the party line and keep us none the wiser.

Forgot to mention. Harf also mentioned that the 3 main journos in town were all Pagan supporters and appeared to be pushing his agenda..

jimmae: a word of advice from your pal the Tyrant.

You've dead-set lost the plot. Your posts are naive to the point of absurdity. There is no idealism in your posts because your "ideal" is not grounded in reality..

here in the "real world", politics involves strategy. The only form of idealism that applies is recognising a problem and rallying to correct it, and recognising problems is the basis for ideology.

The fundamental ideologies at question here, to summarise in 2 points, is about:
- Club management
- onfield performance

Club management is laughable under this board regime.

Onfield performance is laughable under this coaching regime.

Brown et.al recognise these problems and are politicking to correct them. I completely agree on idealogy. I hope and pray Brown does put together a ticket (either directly or indirectly) and I will vote like mad to get them elected.

jimmae, you need to pull your head in and start REALLY thinking about the issues, and not just post contrary nonsense for the sake of it, because you're not exactly coming across as particularly savy.

Harf will probably end up in the media next year if he's not involved in coaching.

Love to see him involved with the Blues but his honesty probably won't endear him to the board.

I'd say he will be gone now.

Had an absolute shocker today. Too busy focusing on the pokics at the club. I hope we keep him in any capacity.
