Why should he be captain?

Took over the reigns when Kouta was injured, generally shows the most leadership to other players out on the field. B&F win puts the icing on the cake. Would be a brave coach or board who didn't select him as captain now. Those are the reasons I think they will elect him captain.

IMO, he's the best of a bad bunch. Has his downsides, but on balance is the best option.

Who do you you think they'll make captain?

I'm not sure who they'll make captain..........I don't think anyone is capable of being a good captain.

I agree which is why I think they'll go with the safe/popular option.

Whitnall had a good season although his second half wasnt great.Shows you how bad we are when he has the sort of year he had and still one.
i reckon it should of been Fevola,Scotland,SImmo then Lance.

Can anyone give an account of what Smorgan, Pagan and Kernahan said at the B & F? There was media report on the footy last night re: Smorgan and everyone was anticpating the latter with bated breath.

Congratulations Lance and all those who got into the top votes.

Amazing effort from Murphy given that he missed the last 10 games of the season! I'm not sure if that's a reflection of how good he is or the state of the club (or both)!

I wasnt there, i didnt hear what was said exactly BUT
If this president is bagging his board for leaks at the BnF instead of asking for resignations behind closed doors... hes a weak @#$%&! wit!
If Sticks is bagging the media at a time when we are weak.. hes a @#$%&! wit!!!

I heard Brian Waldron speak yesterday.. ex StKilda and currently Storm CEO.

He said a couple of times they have been under the pump what they did was pay for the services of a Public Relations Company and they use ONE SPOKESPERSON.. the PR co just puts a spin and it smoots out the trauma.

Thats called a plan and professionalism.. instead we have a bunch of amateur hacks each doing their own thing without thinking it through.

Good luck to Lance for picking him up of the floor to become a serviceable footballer.. but thats all he was...

The devaluing of the Carlton BnF continue....

Will most likely end up as capatain next year.. to continue on the devaluation of the Carlton captaincy..

On an average votes per round basis, if Murphy had played all 22 rounds with the same level of consistency, he would've been in line for a top 3 B&F finish.

Sure, it's a big 'if', but it's some indication of how well the match committee thought the young bloke was travelling before injury.

And when was the last time any club traded there current B&F ???

Well done Red... Even though i personally thought FEV by a mile !!!

He didnt deserve to win it by a mile.. and ... the club could have traded their last few BnF winners snd not suffered...

Id wrap him up and trade him now...

Fev should have won the B&F!!...

Then Scotland... and Whitnall 3rd, Simpson 4th!!

This is the same panel who made Teague B&F in 2004 and Lappin 3rd, when teague should have finished about 7th and Lappin easily the no.1 player that year!!

What a load of shit!! Fev, clearly should have won and Scotland should have been 2nd!

Spot on. How Whitnall won this is just beyond belief...

He was out of his depth for most of the year, but they give him the best and fairest. What a rabble we are. I guess that means they will make him captain too. Great... just great.

Quick question...........

how was the sound last night.........?

i was having a smoke before the gig last night......radio on
listening to the game....when our sound guy came over
and said.........."you listening to the football?"..........
me......"yes....yes i am".........he then said........"is Carlton
playing tonight?"...............!

WHAAAAAAAA..........?

%$#@ i hate talking to people that ask questions like that........!

aaaanyway....i asked why........and apparently he'd been at the
dome setting up the room for last nights B&F.......and somehow
confused this with a game of footy.........!

as it turns out..........our club spent an absolute FORRRRR-tune
on sound and projectors.........i remember last year there being
plenty of screens....which is fine........but two STAGES....two
DJ's.........?

can someone confirm this please.........becouse if what
our front'a house guy said last night is true.........the club may just
have spent a few grand more than what they had to........!

another exarmple of........"not really knowing how to go about things".....!

kindest regards tommi

and congratulate me please........
i didn't nearly burn down Capers last night............!

WELL DONE LANCE!!!!!!

Dont get me wrong, Lance had a good season.. In particular a very good first half of the season..

But i think Fev and Scotland should have been in the top 2.... And i wouldnt have worried if Scotto had won it because he was terrific and our most consistent player, finishing 2nd for disposals in the AFL.. Whitnall hasnt been consistent for the whole season..

Heady, I'm usually one of the more positive people here.. I might speak my mind but there are plenty of others on here worse..

Teague also had a very good season, and if i can remember very good 2nd half of the season in 2004... Whilst Lappin was our best and most consistent for the whole season.. Campo was our B&F in 2000 but i'm sure Kouta had more impact that year...

Don't mean to drone on but I just think for a B&F, they should get it right... Whitnall dropped away a little in the 2nd half of the season...

That said, he has stepped up a notch this season and his first half was sensational! Well done lance on a good season!...

Exactly what i was talking about, though some think i should put a sock in it..

Lance had a very good first half but dropped off and was nowhere near our most consistent... Fev and Scotto should have been top 2.. Just like how Lappin was robbed in 2004...

We dont really have many options as captain, thats the problem.. that said, will the players look up to Lance as captain?? Kouta has his faults but is still the best candidate...

We should elevate Walker to the leadership group and i'm thinking co- captains next year fev and whits... Unfortunately we dont have many other options...
