We also had someone with the surname Brennan playing for us. :?

Did you know that could have been Kenny Hunter's surname? He should have been Ken Brennan when his Mum remarried but he kept Hunter as a child.

No, I did not.

My love for Carlton runs very deep.

I have often thought that maybe I channel the spirits of past Carlton players.

ex-players scare the board even when they co-habit the same plane of existence.

How do you describe a group when it goes past the stage of being a rabble?

There's a great many past Carlton players still taking a great interest in the fortunes of the Old Dark Navy Blues even though they now dont physically sit at the bar of the social club..

I have been strongly aware since 2001 that along with a large number of preceding tumultuous events that have surrounded Carlton, we have an old coach that leaves in controversial circumstances and a new young coach that replaces him.

Be assured that many of the building blocks for our future success have already been put into place but by no means yet realised through the actions of the older coach.

This will become clear fairly soon when Carlton shows a dramatic and unexpected on field improvement early in the tenure of the new coach, quite possibly in his first season.

There will be a very pronounced improvement towards the end of an early season of the new coach that will greatly please many faithful Carlton supporters but will irritate, annoy and upset the supporters of other clubs.

At that time, a very strong positive aura fully replaces the current confusion and negativity that is engulfing Carlton..

It is futile to fight the current troubles, all that can be done is to ride it out and endure it, as painful as it will be until it finally dissapates.

(however if something like a board challenge comes - by all means use your membership rights to effect positive change.)

It is a bit like when a very heavy fog finally clears away.. we all know it will clear, but we dont know exactly when that will happen, but for now we are pretty much stuck and have to sit tight.

However dont lose faith and hold on to the sure promise that the bad will times will soon pass and although it will not be immediately apparent, far better football times will follow.

As is always the case when we are fortunate enough to be given insights that extend beyond the our current world line, the exact timing of events is never provided.

However it is clear to me that we are in the final stages of our time of great crisis.

Christ Blueman,

Not Bad! : :)

More please

Not sure on the exact timing, but as I have said previously, we come good during the time of a bad war that is going on in the world.

I think that the war is related to oil and religion. Best to stay out of it if you can.

Even better if Australia gets heavily involved in plans to use fuels other than oil for our cars - but thats for another post at another time.

Anyway, there is a player I saw called Power running from a flank and goaling in a resurgent Carlton team.

It is a very young team, brimming with youthful confidence has a hot and cold season, but it is quite clear that Carlton is no longer a wooden spoon basket case, but well, getting better.

However as the season wears on the 'new blues' team starts to become to be a lot more like the Carlton of old that we all knew and still love but more importantly this improvement keeps on going well into the finals series.

For a long time I was following the possibility that Luke Power might be coming to Carlton, and I understand that this was a possibility at one stage, but now I am more inclined to think that maybe its Paul Bower kicking a goal after attacking from defence. Peter Dean did this on one or two occasions as I recall.

The happiness that Blues supporters will experience when these things come to pass will be the sweetest thing, sweeter than manna from a crystal blue heaven.

The glory that the blues faithful will bask at that time in will be like the rich golden rays of afternoon sun lighting up Princes park in some far off time when Carlton ruled supreme.

I have always had a strong feeling that Gibbs will be in blue and will form a very strong partnership with Murphy.

Cant guarantee this, but I can guarantee you that Gibbs is very very high on the no 1 pick list in the minds of the coaches and selecting people.

But if you look at how the board behaved recently, you can appreciate how tricky getting these things correct actually is. The very best vibe can be turned into someting else very quickly.

I dont think we get an extra first round draft pick, but of course Im open to change on this.

Before the 1999 finals series, I rang a friend from Shepparton, where I was staying at the time, telling him that I vividly dreamt that we were headed for a GF.

But got so excited about this I got a little ahead of myself and dared to think we would go all the way.

As it turned out, I wasnt far wrong.

At the start of this year my gut said wooden spoon, but I didnt want to believe it.
