Sorry Mrs Caz, but they won't get my membership next year. My own personal protest ...........the last I looked, the constitution allows me to vent my anger in that manner.

I'll contribute in other ways. The club will still receive my dollars but it won't be via a membership. They won't be able to count my little financial input as a membership widget.

I might just buy $500 worth of raffle tickets instead.

So, in 4 years we win 21 games and the coaching department stays fully in tact - no repurcussions at all. What other sporting club on this earth would put up with that sort of a win loss ratio?

The coach blames everyone else but himself. He is living off reputation alone.

Brittain would have to count himself the unluckiest bloke on the coaching merry go round. He must be thinking, if only I was coaching under this regime..........if only.

Lack of leadership based on what??

I'm not convinced one way or another, and don't recommend them being around in the long-term, but let's have a quick wrap:

"We've come to no decision but we will have one by the end of the week."

The next day...

"We will back Denis until his contract expires."

Meanwhile, everyone who thinks they have the right whispers is running around like a chook with their head cut off, and then BLAMES IT ON THE BOARD WHEN THEY LOOK LIKE THEY'RE WRONG.

BUT YOU CAN'T BE WRONG.

HOW CAN YOU BE WRONG?!

IT'S NOT POSSIBLE!

I'm sorta with kingkerna here.

I will buy a membership and attend every game, but seeing this hurts 10 times more than winning the spoon or appointing or not appointing my supported candidate.

Denis was reappointed, but how would you feel as Denis Pagan (regardless of personal opinion)?

You know you have half the board against you, you know that if the club had the cash or the right candidate you would be gone and to a degree you know you are only there by default

This is a guy we now rely on to lead our football club to the next level and in fairness regardless of which coach it is or his abilities, the last 2 days will make it mighty difficult for him to do that.

A brothel of a club

I cant believe the crap spewing forth on this forum......
Youre worried about how bad the club is going ,yet you want to spill the board AGAIN??????? Are you people out of your @$#%*&@ minds?????? How is it that we have so many qualified coachs, successfull businessmen, and psychologists posting on this forum at one time??? You all seem to know better and think you can do better.
Face the facts. Unfortunately the club is at its lowest ebb, ever. It has its worst ever list , and probably one of the worst ever to walk on a football field. No matter how much we speculate ,we will never know how hard these people are trying to bring this club back, but its a long way back and the sooner everybody works out thats its going to take a bloody LOOOOOOONNNNGGGGG time, the better it will be. Buy your membership, support your club. Stop helping to tear it down.

Really.

Worse than the draft pick debacle on Black Friday.

So what are you saying? You would rather Pagan gone right now with all our draft picks for the next two years than have Pagan stay?

Lets hope you never make it onto the board.

Make up your mind James. You wanted Pagan out 3 years ago and now you're backflipping. So much for being the self-proclaimed visionary. You're just using circumstances to suit yourself. We can win picks without sending this club into a degenerative self-destructing entity.

You're as inconsistent as the board.

On what grounds can the non-footballing members of the Board overrule the footballing members on a football matter?

This place is rotten. Weak. Ive had enough.

Ever thought about the fact that supporting these people could actually be tearing the club down?

The club may get its money from me in other ways. I can still contribute $$$ without entering the membership tally. I can buy a raffle ticket, I can buy from the Carlton shop, I can send in a donation, I could other things, but the best way to protest is to not appear in the membership tallies.

The only thing keeping me from doing that is the chance to vote the Board out.

Mrs Caz is correct.

You cannot vote in a new Board if you are not a Member.

If you want to get the message across, let them know what you think of their pissing down our backs.

Go to the AGM and raise hell. Make them embarrassed about their non-decision.

I'll definitely be buying a 2007 membership.

Unfortunately I was expecting this announcement would get me out of work tomorrow. Sadly, that doesn't look like happening. I thought this would change my life!!

I wonder if they effectively communicated to Pagan what there issues were?

I wonder if they know themselves what the real issues are?

Lets see over the next fortnight Pagans approach. Is he just going too ignore what has happened, take a holiday, or actually address it with a communicaton to the supporters.

Something along the lines covering:

I understand this has been a frustrating period for all at Carlton, including myself. I appreciate that the board felt this needed too be done, as the results over the last not only 12 months, but 4 years have been ordinary even taking into account the draft penalties imposed, which for the record is not a reflection on the current Football Department nor Board, but something that both must work through.

We have collectively sought solutions too our financial position and list management, and although at the time we felt some decisions were needed in the bests interests of the club, some selections in hindsight have not worked as well as we would have liked.

I urge all Carlton Supporters and members too get on board, as I as the senior coach of this mighty proud club and your elected board work too turn things around starting with the upcoming trade and draft period.

We do have an exciting list of obvious young talent, and some that are developing through our affiliate Northern Bullants, who incidently are playing in the VFL finals. That a real chance for you too have a look at our up and coming talent.

As we move into the draft period I assure you that the best available talent will be selected too ensure our list grows into an ultra competitive squad that we can all be proud of......etc etc etc

Just something too hang our hats on.

Otherwise we go knowhere. :-D

My point clem, is that constant upheaval wont help the club to rebuild. Everybody deserves a chance, even this board. It cannot be suggested that the current board is NOT doing the best they can to improve things, though some of their methods may appear questionable. Without knowing all the facts, how can the rest of us be so constantly critical. I dont believe there would be many ,if any on this forum ,more qualified to sit on a AFL club board, let alone coach a football club. From where we once stood, we have slipped a long way down, and we are going to need bucketloads more patience yet, before we get back to that point. The squabbling has to stop, it just fragments the club and will lead to its downfall.

Precisely.

If you remove yourself from the membership, then you can't vote and have your say on how our Club is run.

I'm re-signing, no doubt about it.

Denis is a pretty determined bloke. I imagine he'll enter next season feeling he has something to prove.

What better way to silence the critics and prove them wrong than by either making the finals next season or having the team primed for a finals run in 2008.

I'm hoping this will be a turning point. I look forward to those not renewing their membership having a change of heart at the prospect of finals in 2008 and climbing back on board.

Hopefully you haven't bankrupted the club before then.

Doesn't tonights announcement make a mockery of all those clowns who purport to have "inside knowledge" or "sources close to the club".

Amen for sanity!
