from the sounds of it some alternative candidates are going to be picked and assessed....could lead anywhere at this stage.

The best thing they could have done is said Dennis was not the option my doubts would be on Dennis not being re-appointed otherwise they would have said so tonite

They should have said he is no longer there and then announced they will be talking to candidates over the next 2 weeks to organise a replacement.

Sounds logical Pagan future looks grim

Ultimately, much happier with that outcome than hearing of a hasty decision to unequivocally support Pagan. This to me suggests that things are far from set in stone, whatever those things are.

Would be keen to have an inkling about this further 'advice' that the board is seeking before reaching a conclusion. Could it be financial, or something else?

Clearly demonstrates that the Board is split down the middle, or we would not have had 6 hours of meeting with no outcome....

I know I shouldn't be starting a new thread on this
But tonight is a stark manifestation of how our board is simply learning on the job.

They have no idea how to handle the media, no idea how to promote our club, no idea how to stop leaking like a cieve, no idea how to plan for the future, no idea about ANYTHING

Synbad- I never thought I'd say this but when it comes to this board.. You are 100% spot on.

Which means that at least half the board has to go. You can't create a media circus with leaks like a sieve and expect one side to stay on board.

I think the Kernahan camp has the upper hand. All he has to do is threaten to withdraw from Carlton and the Board would have a serious PR problem.

Having said that, Kernahan hasn't done anything really of note except to create some serious controversy in the coaching circles. He's still riding on his status as a Carlton legend. But it may still prove useful...

Could've watched a whole season's worth.

That gives me a good idea, might lighten my mood a bit.

At least you'd see football the way it was meant to be played, not the tripe that is served up in the AFL.

Come next Board meeting i reckon Smorgo is gone .... and so will be half the current board ....

just as this meeting showed how incompetent the board is currently .. also the criticism on the board from Ex - Blues ,.... the fact that Ex - Blues are pulling the strings to out Pagan ... i reckon there is a board challange on its was with an alternate ticket
