Well they said they would not be making a decision tonight anyway. I just hope that they dont come out and support Pagan and say they are honouring his contract. Then at least we have some hope that they may get rid of him in the next couple of days or week, after they have put some more thought into it.

They just ate course 8 lemon chicken, no decision expected until they've all finished their fried ice-cream.

At 4 pm today just befiore the meeting . Denis was safe.
He has the numbers.. te board got cold feet.

so they got Gleeson and Kernahan to assess the coaching situation... they assessed that Denis and his staff were the wrong men going forward.. unpopular with the players and so they made a call. Money was found to pay part of the contract.. the media was contacted and a story was leaked...when push came to shove the board got cold feet. Talk that Mitchell wasnt high profile enough meant they retreated.

The board at around 4 pm today had gone with Denis giving him their confidence.(Except they will not put up with Trout and the assistant coaches.. so in other words we have copnfidence in you but you have to do what we say...with assistants and coaching strategies.. (in other words we dont have confidence in you)
Right now Mitchell will probably get the big heave ho.. for being a threat to Denis.. and Denis will be forced to find new assistants.... (whats the point?)

Just sums up where the club is at right now...
* a match committee assesment that will get ignored (what was the point of it?)
* Media leaks to journos that make them look like dicks.
*Denis gets kept with a proclamation they have faith in him... but he has to work within the boards guidelines.
*Mitchell gets sacrificed
*Nothing changes .. and the club is still an unpleasant place for the players to be in and no sense of hope.
*This pops up again next year... because it wasnt resolved this year..

Just the usual day to day running of a club that has no clue on what to do and is paralysed with fear...

I don't care if it takes another 24 hours of no sleep as long as the right decision is made.

OPTION 1 Keep Pagan clear out the assistants and bring in SOS, Ratten and hopefully Voss if he retires.

OPTION 2 Out Pagan and the best coach available is appointed. If Mitchell is selected they better have considered all options.

A coup before christmas maybe.

if there is some kind of alternative board thing out there, tonights performance would be probably making them feel like future plans need to be brought forward.

The board have just announced...

That they are getting bored waiting for the media to give up and go home so that they can go home and hide under their beds.

If a coup is on the cards they need to act now. I'm yet to meet 1 Carlton member who has the slightest faith in this board. We need a figure-head who can inspire the masses back to the fold not our current Elliot Goblett clone.

Just like a job interview.

You interview three people and none of them meet your requirements. You do not hire the best of the three.

It seems they want Pagan out but do not have the confidence in Mitchell. Last thing we need is to change coach only for him to deliver us another spoon. Get in new assistants and groom them for the senior role 2008.

Or alternatively sack Pagan and take another two weeks to conduct a proper search Aust Wide for the best replacement.

We just turned a nothing into a circus... we thought something was a plan and a good idea... but it was all too hard / risky...

So were going to be the same....

Dont worry there is a plentiful supply of Saladas available.

You would have needed to be a member of Cirque De Soleil to keep up with the Board backflips to scoop any announcement.

The problem with backflips is that you end up looking in the same direction after the backflip - so I have always wondered why they call it a backflip - should be just called a 180.
