Never said there was - but there have been plenty of reports about JL being 'the next senior coach'...a little ingenuity by Josh and you have him calling a board member.

Now - a respected TC poster said a very valid point last week re: Josh's post about the player who had told Josh some remarks about Pagan. And that was that the player probably didn't deserve to be playing for the Carlton Football Club if he went around telling Joe Public those sorts of dispariging remarks. I'd say the same applies to this board member - but then again - I don't believe a current board member would say that and therefore I don't believe Josh.

No big deal Dr.

Josh has shown to be on the mark before.
I'm happy to listen to what he has to say.

I'm happy to believe what Josh has said...his info is usually solid and Longmire has been in the system a while and is looking for a senior role....been touted as a replacement for Laidley ..

Agreed - he's been on the mark before - I'm prepared to give some credit where it's due. But he has to understand also that there are some others on this website who know a fair bit as well. And you can't just go around saying John Longmire has phoned some board members...most of the board members at Carlton wouldn't know who John Longmire was...so they wouldn't exactly be the best people to call.

So according to Josh... 2 out of Sticks / John Valmorbida / Lauraine Diggins / Adrian Gleeson / Greg Lee / Bruce Mathieson / Richard Newton / Marcus Rose and Simon Wilson are receiving phonecalls from John Longmire (are you sure they aren't coming from Liam Pickering at IMG??)...just wanting to get some facts straight - I'll PM Josh!

This is all I know...

As has been reported, the straight swap of Pagan for Mitchell was originally, and still is, the most likely turn of events.

However, there has been a BIG PUSH by some sections of the board (and Ian Collins has had some influence here) in pushign the committee to interview ALL AVAILABLE CANDIDATES before simply promoting Mitchell.

Longmire's manager apparantly got hold of this information, and has made some enquiries...
However, I must stress, it seems the Pagan/ Mitchell straight swap is still the most likely outcome..

Ripper news. No reason to doubt Josh as he has been on the money before.

Hopefully the board consider other candidates. It would be suicide if they didn't.
