There's no need to freak out about Frenchy hanging the boots.

We picked McLaren up last year for this reason, next year he will have to step up. The games he did play this year, as number one ruckmen, were good.

Ideally though, Gardiner in the PSD could be .... mouth watering.

Looks like Denis will almost certainly go after Gardiner now.

Congratulations go to Barnaby for a fairly good career. Just an honest bloke who played to his limits. Will be missed.

Gardiner ... if the club recruit him my family wont be members anymore...

French was a good team man who did his best with what abilities he had...
time to recruit a young ruckman and stick with him....

Could have sworn I said Gardiner was a illegal lolly salesman...

I'm deadly serious, if fit, he could win a Brownlow. The bloke is a sensational footballer.

If Gardiners knees are shot then cant serioulsy look at him and from some reports from the local W.A watchers say he dosnt ruck and sits in the forward line..

We need a ruckman not another forward

Forgetting my personal opinion of the slime bag...Guy McKenna was asked his opinion on SEN a couple of weeks ago and stated clearly that Gardiner cant ruck anymore and is only a KPP these days...Mckenna being a ex Claremont player and in the know indicated that Gardiners knees are shot and was very luke warm about him having any future in the game....

In racing parlance; he's a doubtful conveyance healthwise and......he's carrying much too much baggage.....Angwin and Norman; hello!

This thread should be a tribute to Bananaby - not a speculation piece of us drafting one of the biggest arseholes ever to walk this earth.

Well done and thanks for your efforts Barnaby. Good to see him go out with a goal with his last kick.

Was great to see him kick a goal in the last qtr. Always gave 100% and suffered a horrible back injury during his time at Carlton.

Never once did i bag Barnaby.. gave everything he had to the club. i believe he could have played one more year.
He will be missed.

Fantastic guy to have around the club.. and it showed with the way the players responded to him in the last quarter.

Good luck Frenchy!!

As honest a player as you'd ever see, always gave his all.
Sad to see him go.

I salute French, not the greatest Player, but tried and he knows giving up the game was the correct choice for the club, as i expect him trying to get Carlton a chance of recruiting a young Ruckmen and giving Ohalipan younger brother a go and maybe Daniel Batson if he is kept and Mclaren more of a go with Deluca. He maybe didn't get 100 games, but should get something on that locker.

Always tried hard for the club in one of the hardest positions on the field.

Thanks for the memories Frenchy.

That's a shame.

Ah well, best of luck to you Barney, and thanks for 4 solid years in the Navy Blue. Won't go down as a great, but a good player nonetheless.
