Hard to say with out seeing his form first up.........

Would probably go with Deluca if fit......

Davies will play this week...

What's happening with Bowyer??

I'm feeling sorry already for some deserving blokes missing out each week.....but hey, thats how it should be at a strong club. And wont the Bullants be a much better unit this year. Our recruitment appears to have given us real depth....in contrast to what I saw of the Pies in Darwin....it's real sad...is there an emoticon for crocodile tears?

It's seems pretty universal that Bryan should be dropped which is sad in a way because he had a good preseason. If Deluca is fit I'd probably make him play a game in the two's just to get his feet, I'd love to see Setanta get a shot in the Wizard as a backup ruck cum forward. I wouldn't necessarily expect him to stay in the squad for the real stuff but it would be great to see how far he's really come.

btw we shouldn't forget about Morrell. After playing a game in the twos he should be back against the dogs.

Going by the reports in the VFL section, Setanta played very well in the ruck against Sandy on the weekend.

This weekend is important to Carlton.
Another chance to go further in the WC and into a Grand Final, whilst also adding members to the club who haven't signed/re-signed with the club.

Begs the question....do we play Setanta?
Do we need him?

Our talls this weekend will be Lance, French, Prender, Bryan and Norman while the Dogs have Bandy, Grant, Darcy, Rawlings, Harris and Hargreaves.
Some quality talls in the Dogs contigency of talls.
By adding Setanta will we be at an advantage or a disadvantage?

Your thoughts?

Also Wadye Skipper Patrick Bowden and Will Minson

so will be interesting to see who we play

I love deluca and would love him to play but after a lengthy lay off surely if he is fit this weekend he will come in and just play a half in the 2's.

for me setanta and campo in, bentick and bryan out.

just feel that both these two would benefit more from a full game in the reserves rather than on and off the bench.

maybe even bring in a brett johnson to help with the clearances where we got killed on the weekend who you take out for him im not sure.

every player we have played is unlucky to be dropped.

It is an interesting dilemma, what is best for Setanta's development.

Full game in the ressies

OR

Half a game in the seniors

Glad I am not Denis. :)

Hi Guys
I would love to see Setanta get a run, the difference between reserves and seniors is a big one is any sport, if Denis thougth he was ready before he got injured, and it's further down the line now, surely he's even more prepared?
Plus it would give everyone a chacne to see how far he has come since his last senior game this time last year,
Maybe it's bias :P

I think Setanta will continue in his role as a ruckman in the VFL this week.

I doubt DeLuca will come straight back in. Maybe a half in the VFL.

Possibly a skinny left footer who racked up a pile of possessions last week at OO might get a look in. He deserves his shot IMHO.

Bryan has had very little game time to show his wears but I can see Prender being the standin. I suspect Bryan may stay in.

Eddie might be given 4 quarters in the VFL for Campo. Maybe AB or Juzzy for Simmo.

AB kept Brock quiet in the 3rd quarter when he came on and got some of the ball himself. In the last AB started on the bench and Brock started to get a few possessions.

I wouldn't mind giving Lappo a rest and having Simmo take his spot thereby keeping AB in the team. It's along year.

Nice to have options isn't it. :P

Regards Cazzesman

actually the idea of resting a Lappo's not a bad idea. We need to foster the options, need to give 'em all a chance so we know what we've got. No simmo though, I want Molsey to stay pissed off  hey call me vindictive 8)

Hmmmm not too keen on leaving Lappin out.

I'm all for giving everyone a go, but resting one of our best players when we are trying to win the match and ultimately win the Cup, is not a good idea.

I reckon Simmo IN has some merit.
Unleashing him on TD would benefit us a lot I reckon.

Some tough decisions to be made by the MC.

Campo will come back in for either Bentick or Betts
Bryan will be given another go, me thinks.

The club want to win the Wizzer Cup. As I see it, it has a 3 fold effect.

1. Increased membership > increased revenue
2. Exposure for sponsors > increased revenue
3. Confidence going into Round 1

MC gotta decide best balance side for our opponents, not just form.

Excellent dilemma, one we haven't had for 4 or so years.

i'd bring in campo and johnson, and leave out davies and carrazzo.

unless they decide eddie needs a run in the VFL, then leave davies in.

Bryan has been okay with his limited chances but id setanta was to come in he's who i'd drop.

i dont think bentick deserves to get cut this week.

dont worry KB - setanta is getting a good run in the Bullants and he will learn for more playing a full game there than he will playing is splurts off the bench.

after watching both setanta and aisake last weekend i honestly think both will be playing the game in a Carlton jumper eventually.

setanta was pretty impressive in the rcuk :)

I'd bring in Carlos for Bryan, Simmo for Davies and Diggers (if fit) for Karl.
Karl I thought was a little shakey last Sunday while Bryan and JD can make way to give Simmo and Carlos a chance to impress the master.

edit: shit I forgot Campo  .....Campo for ummmmm....anyone :)
