i dont think so, really we need someone in sydney to help make a call on that. wheather its someone from here or R&Wonline.

looks like saturday arvo and the SCG training ground?

so i'd say 1.30 for a 2.pm start perhaps?

also Clint/Danielle and co, have you guys figured out where you are staying yet? also are any of you guys thinking of going to the prematch in randwick? i think thats a fair way from the SCG though.

any sydney siders know of any good cheap hotels near moore park?

If not the SCG praccy oval, then Gore Hill may be available....very close to public transport and major highways....

The SCG is a very quick bus trip from the Royal Hotel in Randwick. Quick = 10 mins (which in Sydney is quick). If you don't mind a walk, it's about a 20-25 minute walk.

Havn't booked there yet but will be doing all flights and hotel bookings next week.

i'll be bussing it up and getting dropped off at central. it there a train line that comes out anywhere near the scg or randwick?

the royal sounds like a good option then. $77 a night for a single or $88 for a twin.

let me know when you guys book, might be able to share a room to keep costs down.

EMAIL from the club!

looks like we will need to order our tickets by this friday. if its reserved is anyone interested in booking as a group?
clint/danielle if you guys are planning on booking something let me know and if it's okay i'll transfer you some CA$H and get you to book for me also, atleast then we know we will be sitting together.

i'm at work so i cant check but i wonder if the royal is included in the club lifestyle discounts that come with our carlton memberships, if so it's usually 50% off rack rates. if not, seems the prematch is there maybe they can offer a discount on accomoodaton.

the email:

"Dear Carlton Member,

RESERVED SEAT BOOKINGS CLOSE THIS FRIDAY!

Just a reminder that we’re heading to Sydney to play the Swans in Round 22 on Sunday 3rd September at the SCG. We are looking forward to hearing that familiar Carlton support in NSW and hope to provide you with plenty to cheer about before and during the game.

Something before the game – Pre-Match function

The Club is hosting a special pre-match function at the Royal Hotel in Randwick for Members and supporters from 10:30am on Sunday prior to the game against Sydney. Raffles and auctions will be held as well as appearances from past players, an emergency player and an assistant coach.

Transport will be provided from the Royal to the SCG prior to the game and return transport following the match. Hopefully the return bus trip is a lot of fun for all Carlton supporters. All people attending the pre-match function will also receive an AFL Record for the match.

Something for the game – Reserved seat bookings

As a Carlton Member, you also have access to purchase match day tickets in a designated Carlton area at the ground. These are available exclusively to Carlton Members (excluding Blue).

To download pre-match function and reserved seat booking form click here

Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Membership Department on 1300 72 79 81 or email your enquiry to membership@carltonfc.com.au

Something to travel with

For those ACT Members travelling to Sydney for the game, ACT supporter group President Richard Tuffin is organising a ‘Blue Bus’ for the day. Contact Richard on 0414 779 275 or canberracarltonblues@bigpond.com for more information.

I look forward to seeing you in Sydney for Round 22 and hearing you and your fellow Carlton Members giving us plenty of that traditional support when we run onto the SCG.

Keep up the great support,

Anthony Koutoufides

Captain

Luka I am trying to drum up interest there again. I have posted a list with 18 names on it of people who have indicated their willingness to play.

At best at the moment I would say the game would be held at one of three venues - Training ground SCG (under development at present) - Trumper Park Paddington (possibly no goal posts but I can supply Auskick ones) - Gore Hill Oval North Sydney. The big thing to take into account is cricket. Some grounds may not be available due to cricket (my home ground had the posts removed 2 weeks ago and they have already started preparing the pitch)

Central station is a 20 minute walk to the SCG through Surry Hills.

I'm not sure of the Bus number, but I'm sure there are probably half a dozen routes which pass by the SCG and Randwick/Kensington

In other news, I have got one more player...a teammate of the guy who plays for Macquarie Uni.

He's a fairly light-framed guy, apparently, loves being a seagull, and swooping in for the scraps...

We may need some extra jumpers....

i'll bring all three of my jumpers, also have the last game at optus shirt with the CFC monogram which i guess you could use at a pinch.

Also guys if i've missed anyone off the list feel free to add them.

KK has our whole forward line coming by the sounds, so update the list if i've missed any of your mates.

i reckon as a rule whatever the final list total is, take 5 off as they dont end up showing up or cant play for whatever reason.

thats good news mark if the swannies have 18 people already. would be good to have a proper numbers.

KK carefull with the Mac Uni blokes we may end up looking like Carlton for real - Fighting amongst ourselves.

Only joking, in general I have found the Mac Uni boys pretty good to deal with - even had one hold up his ambulance (broken colarbone) to explain to the flower umpire that may clash with him was accidental and that it is a contact sport

hey guys just thought i'd extend this to anyone planing to play in the game, so a few of us can hopefully sit together at the game.

this a copy of an email i got from bluey95 (prez of canberra carlton blues supporters group).

"
- I've now got a bus booked thru Murrays (for return trip from canberra) and was gonna finalise numbers on
Friday as well!

Any chance the other TCers wanna sit with our group? The more tickets
booked through the Canberra Group the better, especially for the function!

If anyone's asking, the bus / pre-match / game ticket package we've put
together is just on $100!

Cheers"

clint/danielle, are you guys interested in book with the canberra group (atleats then we would have a few blues fans sitting in the same area)?

anyone else interested.

note that i'm waiting for a reply as to home much it would cost for just the pre game and seats for the match (obviously people already in /melbsydney dont need the bus trip from canberra!)

Yeah Gez, sounds good.

But we are only going to need 4 tickets for the game. If there is any chance of getting tickets just for the game with you guys let me know.
If not, we will book tickets friday.

Good to hear that the forum match is coming along nicely. I will also bring a another jumper and a few Carlton tops. Sounds like its going to be fun.

i can book 4 tickets for the match for you guys no worries, looking at the form i think we would all be in bay 17 anyway, but if i book them we should be put together with all the canberra carlton supporters that come up.

the seats are $25 each, so just fix us up with $100 at the game/hotel.

i'll try and book them this afternoon (or do you want me to hold off untill friday?) so whos the four coming up? you, dani, pauly and ?BNZ? Bull? Tamara?

man ti just re-read the form and it says tickets are strickly 3 per member so i dont know if i'd have to add some membership numbers to the form.

man who lame is the club relying on snail mail for the applications.

i cant believe there is no fax number on the form, so you can fax it in to them. or email it!

stoopid!

On gameday, there are special buses that go from Chalmers St Central Station to the SCG, they leave like every 5 minutes, or when the bus is relatively full.

If you want to bus to Randwick, the 37x (x= a number, can't remember exactly) is the bus you want. Tell the driver you want to get off as close to the corner of the junction of Avoca and High Streets, or drop you off as close to "The Spot" as possible.
