Kouta could have ordered his manager to shut his trap from day 1. He didn't. He's had plenty of chances to do so since then but he hasn't. The only reason Allison's out in the media belching crap is because Kouta allows it. It's always been the case. If Kouta didn't like the way Allison was handling it he would have found a new manager many moons ago.

I'm not quite sure of that? If Allison's job is to extract the most amount of money in the market place for his client whether we like it or not he has done it when its counted. I can't agree with his methods but he has got the job done. Sydney flood, I don't like flooding but they won a grand final.

I'm sure Kouta's a nice enough bloke and that he's well liked around the club. That has nothing to do with whether people respect him for the antics of his manager. Kouta is responsible for Allison's actions. Allison shits nearly every football person I've ever spoken to.

Not in the same class at all Sydney but I thought he should have shut his mouth too. The difference in that case is it's the first time I've heard anything out of Joseph since Pagan joined the club. Joseph made a statement and has since shut up.

Allison pops up regularly and then doesn't shut up at all until he's done serious damage to Kouta and the club.

If Joseph starts heading down the Allison path more often I won't be happy about it at all. I doubt it will happen though. Joseph's had a long career and been involved with many clubs and people and is smarter than Allison.

But these people made him Captain of our club when Allison was his manager and the football world did not respect him? How does that work?

When Kouta was made captain it was because there was no-one else with a similar level of experience and there would have been a shitstorm from the moronic heroworshipping dildoes who can't see the difference between a leader and a boofhead with a large bank account.

It was a populist decision but considering the options at the time the club's hands were tied. I supported it as I didn't believe there were any real options but I didn't like it. I thought he'd be a poor captain and I think he's proven that to be the case.

I've no doubt Kouta has the adulation of many of his fans but when it comes to respect he'll never be considered alongside the other great players of his era due in part to his excessive contract and the way it was handled by his manager and hence by him.

Have to disagree GWS. Kouta will be remembered as one of the greats who was cruelled by injuries long after David Allison's name is justly forgotten.

Woof - I'm not suggesting that he's not been a great player - far from it. I loved watching Kouta at his best and he thoroughly deserves to be in Carlton's Team of the Century.

That has nothing to do with the way he uses his manager.

Why is it that almost every Carlton supporter detests Dave Allison and the way he operates and yet as soon as I criticise Koutoufides for being a party to that you and others want to jump to his defense?

Will Kouta be considered a great player after he retires?

Yes.

Will Kouta be considered a selfless leader who always put his club first?

His form vs Hawthorn was ordinary and his kicking was woeful....I wouldnt be offering him a contract for 2007....
If we are offering him a contract out of sentiment then the club is being stupid....great player but he is finished and like I said should retire gracefully...
