We should just cut our loses and pay out Teague and Saddington. Can't afford to have those 2 on the list where we could possible promote a rookie or draft another young kid

Wasn't there talk a while back that we may struggle to pay the minimum 92.5% or whatever?
Unlikely because we've been rumoured to have so much cap excess for a few years now but we never do. Surely after 5 years on the bottom there couldn't be too many big earners.....
Even so, if Kouta does finally retire we could easily pay these guys out, they're not going to be of use, not even in the short term so cut them and start again.

Teague still under contract for 2007

Fact is we'll only get rid of 6-8 this year. Remember, the kids we pick up in the draft will still take 2 years to be regulars.

Out
Prenda
Kouta
Sporn
Davies
Chambers
Longmuir
Livo

Possibly 1 or 2 more but I reckon that's heaps.

Remember that just cause they're on the list we don't have to play them if they're not required. But if you need another experienced backman, Saddington's your man.

I hope we get Hansen rather than Gibbs as we really need quality defenders. For this reason I'd rather the bobres take the spoon and be forced to take gibbs. We've got enough quality mids, although they are very young.

Except for a few early games up forward Livo has played purely as a fullback both for the Blues and the Ants. So how do we know how he could have gone in the middle. The fact is he is too small for a fullback in the AFL.He has only been tried in one position which has hindered his development.

The fact that he is as slow as a wet week, and has a turning circle wider than my Datsun 180B station wagon might give some indication. He may have won the 20m at the draft camp, but he burgled that.

I suspect that his physical abilities probably sealed his fate as a full back after playing mostly across half forward for the Pioneers..... Put it this way, if he had been given time in the middle, he wouldn't be at the club.

I'm digging the boots in a bit here, but I think it would be best for both parties if we cut him loose. It would be great if he stayed at the Ants, but his roster spot would be more suited to someone else. He deserves everything he has earned so far because he works his arse off (or used to when I knew him), but his style of play retired when the likes of Dunstall, Lockett, Schwarz, etc retired.

Crusader he aint slow. He may appear but he isnt.Whats stopped him from playing elsewhwere is a of lack of endurance.Heard it from uor next coachSOS on radio as he has done some .private work for Livo.

Stevens showed today why he could be trade bait. Murphy will get the number 1 tag next year regardless. To move forward I believe we need a to find a trade for Stevens or Houlihan and Stevens is the one teams would want the most.He was shit today and how does that sit with the young guys lwho are busting their arse week in week out.Gave bell way too much latitude and made some feeble contests at the ball.He is simply overated.

I would have 8 delisted/retire, 9 if French retires as I'm hoping. Bannister is still on the borderline, needs another 3 good games to cement a spot.

Delisted:

Livingston
Prendergast
Teague
Chambers
Longmuir
Davies
Sporn

Retire:
Kouta
French

Promote Flint and Jackson for the retirees, leaving 6 National draft and 1 pick pre-season for Meeson. Top draft, lets make the most of it.

Do the job right this year and invest heavily in kids and our list will be chock full of quality kids and only a few years of developing away from finals.

We would not have to promote Jackson and Flint as we have them on the rookie list for another year. Depending on the calculations; the fact that this years draft is deep it would possibly not be good list management to promote them.

I think we can get six kids this year.

It would be nice to see goals conceeded between the two. Livo stacked up pretty well in every other category and was actually in front in tackles and one percenters.

Makes me wonder why he can't get a game really...

I'd dont get why we can't at least try Teauge as the Loose-man role that Whitnall fills so well.

Barry Mitchell has been trying teauge in the midfield in the Bullants this season and has had some sucsess with it, but NO-WAY will teauge be able to make the transistion to AFL midfield.

BUT..................

Teauge reads the play quite well and is a great mark, not to mention his courage!

PErsonally, as good as Lance is in that role down back, i'd love to have a forward line of Fev, Whitnall & Kennedy.

Move waite into the midfield or even try him at CHB and put Teauge in to fill the void that Lance leaves.

We could at least try it. He's contracted till 2007 anyway and in all honesty.......Shit cannot get any worse!

Remember the Wizard Cup campaign last year, the entire Media World was in awe of the Fev & Lance show.

Other than that......................

Davies
Livo
Chambers
T-Lo
Spron
Prenda

should all be CERTAINTIES to go

McGrath
DeLuca
Houlihan
Bannister
Bryan (for his attitude, not he's playing ability)

HOPEFULLY have all been warned.

Saddo
McClaren

2ND CHANCE as they're in their first season.

French is really letting the team down with his performance this year and it is not good enough from somebody who is (was?) a part of our leadership group.-But he is our only true ruckman, so unless we pick up a Seaby or Gardiner (doubtfull after what Smorgan said) we're gonna be stuck with him.

KOUTA TO PLAY ON! - He can play! And if you use him wisley enough (ie, off the bench) he can still turn a game, as he did yesterday!

Yes, i would trade Stevens but only for a decent pick...............but that looks doubtfull anyway.

Lance to be Captain with Fev as Vice Captain.

:? I think Chambers should be played for the remaining rounds of 06.

I don't think he has had enough game time to proof himself and given size and pace should help with the missing link. Can't see why not with Houlihan given sooooo many opoortunities?
