Back on Caro, I never used to like her because she was so one sided towards Richmond and always moaned about her father ( I think) missing out on a GF because of Carlton. But I love how she gives it to St Kilda and Cornflakes and Eddie and pretty much is not afraid to tell us things that 'the boys' won't.

On Collo, good-bye you conflict of interest, ego driven, good for nothing etc etc. Totally different thread that probably shouldn't be re-visited. Happy to argue about him but can't be bothered.

So Collo leaves a club he's played for, worked for and donated a HUGE amount of his time to as President FOR NOTHING and leaves the club because some of the board members had an issue with a deal with a newspaper?

"Sounds a little odd?"

Maybe because it's crap?

Yet another post that provides one piece of rumour/opinion and arrives at an outcome without taking into account any of the other various complexities.

Have you met Surrey Blue yet DUC?

Hey GWS - your horse Betsy is waiting for you outside.

The complexity of the matter was that the Board did not roll over and say whoopee on Collo's proposed deal [and now signed deal] with The Age.

As head of Telstra Dome he had just signed an exclusive newspaper sales deal for distribution rights at the Dome.

The Age then wanted to extend to the members of the football club that he was also President of.

The simple fact was that Collo did not have the full support of the Board, which he unfortunately, for him, he needs to have.

And please don't make me puke about how much time and money and effort he put into the club - when it was he that signed half the dodgy player deals when he was the club CEO.

Collo gets Carlton to move home games to the Dome and didn't get paid a cent for it?

Shocking! He should speak to Kerry Stokes about the $7m he spent on the VC medal and see what money he can get from that.

All you've done here DUC is extend your conspiracy theory RUMOUR with jack all to back it up. What you seem to be saying is Collo left Carlton because of a newspaper deal/non-deal.

I say bullshit.

There were 50 or so other issues that may or may not have contributed to Collo leaving Carlton.

Oh - and where did you get this amazing $7 million figure from for the VC? That's a very impressive leap from the $1.2 million he actually paid.

Same place as your Collo rumour?

Forgive my dyslexia GWS on the amount paid for the VC medal. The posts on this site are usually word perfect, I cannot imagine how I allowed the post to even get thru.

Hey GWS - no response to Collo's dedication to the club benefiting himself and Telstra Dome nor any mention of the questionsable deals done while he was CEO?

Are you related to Collo? Is that why you are so irked by my post?

Le't say you don't know who I am and let's just say I don't care who you are and leave it that.

Nah let's just say your post reads like the crap that spews out of the Herald Sun and that I'm sick of reading beat ups based on no evidence...

Not related to Collo - never even met the man.

I'm not suggesting Collo never did anything that might make me cringe. My post had nothing to do with any issue other than the one you raised.

You made the link between him resigning as president and a deal with The Age. I said that's crap and that there were any number of other reasons that might have influenced his decision.

That's all.

You seem so sure that my views are crap, yet your view is equally without support.

You seem to want me to put up or shut up, but nothing from your good self.

Perhaps neither one us is prepared to reveal why we know what we know.

By the way GWS - I have met the man on several occassions and don't think to highly of him.

My apologies if I have not included a picture of Collo and I to back up that statement.

I claim there could be many reasons he left and you claim it's one specific one and you think these two claims need equal levels of evidence...?

According to the rumour file, one of the reasons that Collo left was because of this very deal with the age, that some board members had an issue with.

This is what I originally said GWS - ONE OF THE REASONS....

Even the Chief Footy Writer at The Aged newspaper, that you are getting for bargain basement - as you would expect from a rag - made the same assessment - ONE OF THE REASONS HE QUIT WAS.........

Is it a coincidence that you "HATE THE AGE" and have Southgate (home of the Herald Sun) as your location?

Conflict of interests????

Can we possibly have 1 thread on this site that isn't sidetracked by either:

a) people with agendas, or

b) little bitchfights between posters, or

c) is that too hard for people to get their heads around? :?

Ring them and you'll get an answer

Email them and you'll get silence.

You must give your membership number. If they check and it is a dodgy one, you will have to pay the full price of the subscription.

It's so weird how people come on here and their posts are merely "all your posts are crap" shite. How many times do certain posters hardly post a word and then when Surrey posts something, or SB, or whomever (like poor old DownUnder) and it's like "oh you are so shit at posting here, all your posts are tripe, whinge whinge, crap on like a tool"??

Who cares about "how" someone else posts? Discuss the topic, not the way someone is discussing the topic. If we have to put up with this sort of anal rubbish every time someone posts, this place will sink even further into the mire.

The Age is crap. It's great Carlton has struck a deal with the newspaper, but it won't improve the level of journalism. I'm all for people getting it home delivered and throwing it away five minutes after picking it up if it means a few dollars will be moved Carlton's way.
