I'm pretty sure I remember there being a pretty big questionmark over Pearce's courage, which is why he didn't get drafted in the first place, despite blitzing draft camp.

You wouldn't class Pearce as athletic.. just zippy.

Pearce plays a different role for the Power, he is more of a surplus midfielder who starts at half back and delivers (very well) into the forward line either by running it in or kicking. The Port gameplan relies on a massive grouping of players at half back, and by handball, they either find a free player or deliver to one of their little guys who can carry it and run. Ebert and pearce come to mind. They're small and not that crash hot at the 1 on 1's, but given their pace and skill are given heaps of ball and they know what to do with it.

Not saying Pearce wouldnt make it as a forward pocket but he is currently in a different role.

Pearce will be a very good player for PA in the future!

IMO he is the favourite to win the NRS at the end of the year...

Oh yes you would...very. When Deano said Pearce blitzed them in the draft camp he wasn't kidding. Pearce is just one of those small types that may have had a bit of a query over their 'role' in an AFL side, if I may be so bold.

Must be a definitional thing Pafloyul - pipsqueaks are never really defined as athletic in my world, or in the press. Those colloquially defined as athletic are tall, agile and have ripping biceps - like a young Kouta.
