Any word on whether Kade Simpson is close to resigning - this guy is an absolute gun and with Essendon* potentially having No.1 pick in PSD we need to lock him in early.

He is a left-footed Akermanis - an absolute excitement machine !

Not bad at Pick 45 hey, I'm sure 'The Spew' didn't see that coming.

more consistent than Daniel Wells and that is more important to us then 1 good game in every 3 with Wells at the moment

luv kade simpsons willingness to run and create and take on the opposition future leader of the club

I think most of us would be Kade Simpson fans given his "birth" into the club.

The one thing about him though, like a lot of left footers, he is very one sided. The funny thing is, when he has had to kick on his right foot he's actually gone okay. He should practice that like there's no tomorrow.

Improving his skills like that could launch him towards the elite level.

I just wish he was a better shot at goal on the run. Braddles and, dare I say it, Campo in his earlier years were deadly running through the 50 m arc. Once he gets that right, he will be devastating when he is allowed to run free.

Its good to see Kade backing himself in most contests, breaking the lines of the opposition defence...He just needs to improve his shots on target and score 4 goals 1 point, rather than 1 goal 4 behinds...

Kade was earmarked for top 20 maybe 30 (from those that I spoke to)....

Carlton was stunned and took him straight away....the genuine enthusiasm at the time was lost in the usual "we're happy to have him at the club...thought he was a good pick up" claptrap.

No doubt, I saw the no 50 running around in the Bullants jumper I thought gee this kid is good...but gee will he ever grow ...and this is what was scaring off other recruiters (apparently was about the same size he was at 15)

Well the good news is...he didn't grow BUT he's gotten better anyway!...and make no mistake that in Pagan's first year when things were bleak the was watching Kade's progress....saw him at a few reserves games and in a lot if interviews...KAde's name would pop out not necesarily in context to what he discussion had been. Made me feel certain that later when the 3 duck egg possession games happened they weren't counting against him... besides, that first game against Geelong he came on the park and crunched (?) in a tackle....he didn't get another possie, but I think Pagan had seen enough and took him off pretty much for the rest of the game. I've watched KAde a lot and I don't think we can fault Pagan's developement of this kid (well I can't) even though it looked a bit dodgy at times...

Sign him up...BUT I don't think Kade will leave anyway...I think he's alwayys known where he stands in the team and the progress is one way ...up

I reckon Matt Burgan's phantom draft had him at #20 that year...

I actually reckon Kade's a decent kick on the run from 50, he had a bad trot on Saturday but I'd pick him pretty early for the 'on the run from 50' shootout competition in our side...

Looking back he's now in the top 5 players drafted that year easily. And that's not being biased either.

Can we please have a sticky explaining the difference between re-signing and resigning?

I would much rather see Simpson re-sign than resign......

Recently been made part of the leadership group. Even the commentators are picking up on him now. This has been his breakthrough year, I hope the contract negotiations have gone OK, just when we're starting to see the first little glimmer of light at the end of a long dark tunnel, I'd hate for some other club to steal the torch.

Tim Webster when he was hosting Sports Tonight apparently gave Eddie McGuire a heart attack one night (a few years ago) when he announced that Nathan Buckley had resigned rather then re-signed.

BTW - Lets have a look at how Kade Simpson and Brad Fisher's careers pan out compared to Daniel Wells and Brendan Goddard - I reckon we may have not have done too badly in comparison  - but would have liked to have recruited all 4 of them at the same time though.

It's not only about 1 & 2 picks is it.
As I have mentioned previously, if your recruiting guys are on the ball, there are gems everywhere.
