After the conceded-win in R16 v EFC* there are, and will doubtless be more, posts about the quality of the game, our future, etc etc

This is one of them ...

Now, some reckon we should play for priorities, and go for only one more win this year. I reckon we should play for pride, and bust as many heads along the way out of the cellar once and for all.

Surely we have sufficient talent with which to work without having to blood more newbies!

Which do we do? Play for pride, or picks? Which is worth more to us?

given the quality of this year's draft i dont think we need to play for picks, we're not good enough to finish anywhere higher than 15th anyway so we have to try and win as many games as we can. in a draft like this, a no.2 pick would be just as good as a no.1 pick in any other draft.

Yes but at this point we stand lose out in a big way if Essendon* stroll in and take Hansen.

a team that won 4 games last season and only 2 this season doesn't decide for itself whether it will win or lose next week.

Hopefully finish 15th with the PP still in tact. I like to think of it as TANK WITH PRIDE. But if it's between loosing a PP and another spoon, I'd loose the PP anyday.

No point in playing our way out of a PP at this stage, avoid the spoon yes, but who cares if we finish 15th or 14th?

Like abaddon said, it's not really a conscious decision we can make here.

there is no way known that we are gonna finish 14th the best thing we can hope for is to finish 15th and in a draft like this year's a no.2 pick is just as good as a no.1.

After all the pain of the last few years, I think we deserve a PP. The rule was brought in to assist clubs who were struggling at the bottom of the ladder.

If we win 2 more games and finish 15th without a PP I'd be disappointed.

6 more weeks of pain and it'll all be over. I say try to beat the 'tiggers' to make sure they finish 9th :-D and be happy with 3 picks in the top 20. I personally hope we get Hansen as he sounds just the solution to our problems with some of our key forwards/defenders not living up to expectations.

I just don't want to finish last and I don't want anymore blow-outs.

Thats so true, we need a priority pick, its not like we are good enough not to deserve one!
