Pardon my negativity but was anyone thinking why Red stared on Lucas in the second quarter.I will be pissed off if they play red on pav. Dont play Whitnall in defence any more in attack.Pagan really amazes me at times.

yeah pavlich will annihilate whitnall if he plays on him but the question is if lance doesnt who will play on pav? is thornton strong enough? is setanta good enough? i say thornton should get mcpharlin if he plays forward, carrzzo on medhurst, walker on farmer and whitnall on pav but with barnaby french the loose man in defence to cut off the leads pavlich makes. if pavlich is beating lance very comfortably then we have to make a change and probably try t-bird on him but its our coach who gets paid to make these decisions so we'll leave it to him. if we can stop pav it'll go a long way in us winning the game and i believe we're good enough to win the game.

Dunno about lance performance today, he didnt get much of a chop out from his teammates, there was never a third man up to help him out, probably coz it is usually Lance that is 3rd man up.

Im stumped for an opponent for pavlich. Ive always thought Jarrad Waite reminded me of Pav, will Denis pull a swifty and put a usual forward on pav? Im really lost.

another option would be to put thornton on pavlich and let lance be the loose man in defence who predominantly watches out for pavlich and tries to cut off his leads. but that leaves longmuir and mcpharlin free if they play. its a really hard one and one that could play a massive hand in the outcome of the game. denis has one week to think about it.

YUP! I could see that as a move Denis would do.

Seriously, the second i saw Lance go to Lucas i told my Girlfriend that 'He'd kick 5 on us with Lance on him!'

Lance needs to be played up Forward next week.........It's the only position for him againts Freo!

yep waite has to take up the position kouta is leaving. there's no room for a forward line consisting of fevola, waite, kennedy and fisher one has to go.

O'hAilpin will play on Pavlich, he has the height and pace to stay with him all over the ground plus it is a necessary part of his learning curve to do so.

his body is definitely good enough to keep up with him but is he smart enough, experienced enough and is he good enough to play on a player of the calibre of pavlich?

Does it really matter though ?? Not at all !! What is of prime importance is what Setanta would learn from the experience.

If he breaks even with Pavlich, it's a positive.
If he beats Pavlich, it's a huge positive.
If he gets pantsed, it's still a positive, nothing will teach him how to play the game more than an indepth onfield examination.

have to agree with the setanta option - what else have we to lose?....and think of the upside if he does well or learns a heap from the experience

I hope your girlfriend replied:

So what was your statement based on - boys' intuition?

I reckon Carlos could do the job. It would be a good test after a couple of good games. I would throw him in the deep end a bit, but only because I reckon he could rebound from a flogging if he copped one.

Pavlich is about as sharp as a sack of wet-mice (I say, I say, boy, look at me when i'm talkin to ya, son... :-D )

... And he isn't in his top form, so it could be the first 'scalp' of Carlos' early career - of course, it could be his first real bath as well... It would absolutely sink T-Bird if he was on the end of a Pavlich whupping, so I would rather protect him a bit and let him get a bit of form going.

For that reason, I'd stick with Lance as a loose man - but use him as cover for Carlos on Pavlich. Effectively a double-team, but releases Lance to make a read if he doesn't think Pavlich will win the ball.
