Good question, where can you see that verbs?

IP's are not as sensitive as emails etc, but still something I would prefer were removed.

Let me know and I will mod the program and remove it.

I must admit I was a bit slow to cotton on to the backlink feature too and while I've been adding the link at the bottom of the match reviews I've been adding links to names where appropriate as I figured that made sense.

I also figured it made sense to link the year in the table at the top of each match review where the date of the match is listed. I find it easier to simply click on the link to get back to the year in question. Oops! :P

Adding links is not evil. :-D

It really does improve the site. It is not time wasted.

I think my main point is if you see a Kernahan or a Silvagni, they probably don't need to be linked every time. :-D

But if you see a Majerczak, LINK HIM! 8)

When I look at the history of a page, it shows everyone who has contributed, and their IP (according to their BZM username). I know it's not uber sensitive, but should still, in my opinion, be hidden.

Ahhh, thanks mate.

I will try to mod it to remove the IP's.

Let me know if you find anything else, I am super sensitive to privacy issues.

I'll let you know when I have done the mod. :-D

Oh, are our team lists for each week listed somewhere, or do you reckon it would be worthwhile to add them to the game review pages?

I've noticed a few GF reviews have the teams listed. While it might be difficult to list the team for the older games it should be a bit easier to list the more recent teams.

Best to hide that sort of stuff.

Chris Bond...a TRUE TASMANIAN TRIUMPH...will have a brilliant page once I get 'round to finishing it.

Not a Carlton legend, but a damn fine footballer all the same.

Luckily that was an easy one to fix.

The IP column should appear blank now.

Let me know if you see anything different.

Thanks for the info verbs. :-D

What does everyone else reckon?

Personally, I think it would be great to have the team list on each and every game page. (I do have the details of team lists for very early games if anyone want them for data entry purposes :) )

The template that is used does not take up much space. So if you want to use it and know the team list for a particular game, go for it!

Just had a read, better than most pages already. I'll add a little 'fact file' to it. Anyone got a picture of Chris Bond?

Although he was a journeyman he ended up with a fine football career.

I've fixed a couple of typos, and have another couple of hundred of words to go...still got the last quarter to get through, but might type it up tomorrow morning before the big wooden spoon game. :(

I have a dodgy newspaper clipping of Chris during his debut game I can convert to digital and put up as a jpeg.

I have a few more, if they aren't done already. Most from the late 80s or there abouts.

I've completed up to 1943 on the Project Link so far.

The way around the extreme bakclink problem is to have subsidiary linking pages. I've started the process for our key player's brownlow votes. Rather than link each year each player earns votes, the player's bio backlinks to their Brownlow Votes page, which then links through to the respective years.

It really keeps the backlink function separated.

Perhaps we could try something similar for too many games listed

ie link to 1984 Games rather than all 22 Games? The 1984 games page could have a quick summary of the opponent?

As for team links, great idea, useful stuff, just concerned about the backlinks to those who've played lots of games. As long as we dont link it all through, say for other than Grand Finals, I think its a cracker idea.

Project Link is almost complete - great effort by nikki, camelboy and steve.

Only 1949 to 1959 remain to be linked. Have a go at it if you get some time,

M

I'm working away on Project Link again and one thing I've noticed sporadically throughout the years I've been doing is score anomalies. Take this entry for instance where our score is listed as follows:

6.3.39 … 7.4.46 … 10.1.61 … 12.1.82

It seems as though the 3rd quarter score would be incorrect. Also, the behinds tally quite often drops off a zero if the number is 10 (see final quarter entry). I've fixed them when I've noticed them, but dunno what the go is with that weird 3rd quarter entry.

Project Link is complete. 8)

And check this out, the last game I edited was Round 14, 1957 and the game was played on my birthday (27 July), a few years before I was born mind. The result? We beat Richmond (my Mum's team pre-Port Adelaide). The margin? 27 points.

Nice.
