** IMPORTANT NEWS **

The powers that be at CSC have banned / deleted all references to the Blueseum. They do not seem able to differentiate between online gumph that we all sprout and anything that benefits the CFC - the entire reason why I post here, and many others.

Needless to say, I am disgusted with this after the hours I put in to the BZM for the benefit of my footy Club.

Un-bloody-believable.
I just came here from BZM and I'm stunned. What you and Jars and everybody else involved has created there is unique. You have worked your butts off for no other reason than your love of the Club - and you get treated like this.
Someone at Carlton; "the powers that be" need a kick in the arse.
No wonder we are struggling.

Pat - CSC.... not CFC!!!!!

CSC, you know, the forum?

CFC loves it and will allow linking to their site VERY SHORTLY!!!

CSC, well, I understand the issue may be reconsidered over the next while. I should retract my comments until further notice.

Haha Pat - sorry for confusing you with my acronyms. It's sort of funny when you think about it! But congrats on what Geoff Southby said about your work - makes it pretty special, eh?

Anyway back to business - young Mav from CSC (and formerly of TC) is in the Blueseum at the moment, Jarusa is going to do the Trophy Cabinet (thanks tralby) and I'm still trying to do mini-bios for all concerned. Pleae PM me if you can help.

Great work BW, seriously good.

I think we sort of have a panel of steve, Jarusa, Pat, yourself and me who've done about 90% of the site. The Club has raised the idea of vetting new additions once the site is closed....perhaps the 5 of us could have some sort of committee or so?

Of course, there's always room for more volunteers. God knows theres a hell of a lot more work to do. Even the memories of Agro and Sydney re: doull need to be in there - this is before my time so i can't.

Also, please note that CSC appear open to BZM advertising / links again - looks like afew misunderstandings both ways. Good news for all who want to give the gift that will keep on giving.

Work is continuing to get the site ready for its 'soft' launch. Could I ask each of:

steve, BlueWorld, Wolfister, JuzzCarlton, PatFitztrick, StretfordBlue, Jarusa, Mrs.O (being those posters who've done 50 or more pages in the Bleuseum)

to let me know via PM a) if they are OK with being publicly named in association with the Blueseum and b) if appropriate, their real name

for inclusion in one of the launch articles?

Sorry, no Orders of Australia being handed out, just a Mike & Dan salute...

Project Player Bio is continuing but is painstaking with an FTE of 1...

I have done all players who have played from 1 to 13 games, which is almost half of the entire player list. But I need people to help me put a simple line in about all players, who currently don't have a bio.

It's easy, just time-consuming. Something like:

Jack Young played 14 games for Carlton commencing in Season 1932, (and kicked 0 goals.)

All the information is provided through the stats / rleague site.

ANy takers?

Players from the 80's who don't have bios that people might be interested in doing:

Mark Maclure
David Glascott
Des English
Alex Marcou

I will put my hand up for these, because they are all from my era.
Des has already been done.

PS Does anyone here know how Des English is travelling these days?

Project PLayer Bio - 14, 15, 16 .... all done, meaning players who've played this many games at least have a 1-liner to their name.

Includes legends such as Anstey, Gallagher M, and the brilliantly named Oscar Manchester.

Again, if people have half an hour free to do all those that played x games, please let me know.

LAUNCH DATE.... 5 days and counting (approx.)!

EDIT - 17 done... the higher the number, the fewer the players...CMON the hard work has been done! Less than a half of it to go!

Mols,

I will try and get some more finals done on Tuesday evening. Probably the only chance I will get this week.

Sorry Steve, been trying to get as much done on the Locker room before the 'launch'. Will try to do whatever finals are left after getting that done. :-D

no problems Jamie. I'll try and do up to and including '62. Do if you do get any time starting from '63 is probably a good place.

No worries steve.. hopefully the launch will bring a few 50 year olds who can help out with our finals at the time.

Have done all players who have played up to 20 games for the CFC - which is about 55%! I knew this was n elite competition but to have so many play so few, it really does highlight how elite the elite have to be to play say 50 games, 100 games...

Shall continue on - doesn't look like anyone wants to help on this most mind numbing of exercises! Yes... that's YOU!!!!

EDIT - Now done all players up to 23 games worth...
EDIT no.2 - Now done all players up to 28 games worth. Each game number really only has about 10 players each
EDIT no.3 - All up to 30, ending with Bortolotto.

ps steve, when i put out a call for volunteers i'm not talking to you, ok? You've done way more than your fair share already.

I can probably fit a few numbers in between school work if you still need it. It will give me a bit of a break just let me know what numbers to do and where to get the info

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated Nikki. this link takes you to the entire list of Carlton game players:

http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/alltime/carlton.html

I've done from 1 to 31 games played, which is roughly 2/3 of all Carlton players of all VFL/AFL time. It would be great if you could add a line to players who've played say between 41 and 50 games, a line such as the following:

[Insert PLayer Name] played x games commencing in Season ((y)). He also kicked z goals.

So copy in the line, and fill in the relevant data from the link to the 4 places in the line for that player.

eg. Ian Nicoll.... Ian Nicoll played 41 games commencing in Season ((1967)). He kicked 30 goals.

If his name is already done, just move on to the next one. Please keep the years in double brackets - it helps people find out more about the player in question.

I'm going to do from 32 to 40. If anyone could assist between 51 and 375 to make sure all players at least have 1 line, it would be genuinely heartfeltly lovingly appreciated.

M
