I think campo was the subject of both constructive criticism and straight out abuse this week.

Jarusa yep exactly right - among other posts....

I am not trying to stop criticism lets get that straight.

I have not personally attacked any individual poster on this site - another thing to get straight.

I have given my perspective on where I think the CFC is at. These are clearly shown in my post - I even numbered them!

What I was hoping for was input from other posters on this site in regards to my perspective... Eg Do you agree with it - Or if not What don't you agree with etc.....

Hopefully I will get some because I DO care what peoples views are and I do respect them.

But, again.... all "constructive criticism" that frankly, I NEED to hear for my development.

Like Campo. The guy needs a rocket. I don't remember Synbad, for example, saying Campo was ugly and stupid and lived in an ugly house, or anything petty. He was being critical of his footy performances.... and rightfully so. The guy DOES need a rocket, and I found those comments constructive as topics of debate. When one disagrees... there's debate. Like Jar and Synners. "Debate".

Actually, what we're doing IS having a debate about it, because i AM explaining why this thread is not relevant.

I cannot believe this new age living.
Dare not speak against anything NavyBlue anywhere else you are not a real supporter, etc etc etc....well sorry pal, I will not tolerate bad performances anymore and even though I have not focused on anyone specifically (thank god), I will call it as I see it.

Saturday's effort was piss poor. There were some great individual efforts.. but overall.... piss-poor.

We went backwards... and its worrying.

Now, we can either ask the hard questions, post the hard posts, or go and sit with Eddie McGuire in his Cave of Collingwood Glory.

Tyrants

Fair enough - I am clearer as to where your at in regards to your opinion - and I RESPECT that.

I am going to summarise the points of my post and I would like you opinion on them:

1: I thougt it was good that we won the Wizzer but I don't believe that success entitled us to be automatic top eight contenders. Of course I hope we do, but in taking the 'bigger picture' (we are growing our list - not premiership contenders) into account and the realities of of team (ie Foot soldiers as opposed to champions) I think its unlikely.

2: We have played one good quarter in three games and yet have managed to win one game, and NOT cop beltings as we have in the past when we have played shit. This point is to show we are improving - we are on the rise, its going to take time and theres is still much more room for improvement.

3. I believe there are many vaguries of having a young list with some experienced players to help out. This situation which CFC has IMO, means inconsistent performances. Not everybody can pass lace out too fev in our team, but we have the potential to be able to with TIME!!

Totally agreed. Though supporters, as emotional animals we are, are prone to wanting the best. Then, when reality sets in, we tend to fall hard and tend to be critical. That is no to say the team doesn't deserve it, but rather, the success enjoyed masked some deficiencies (Collingwood 02-03).

we've played 3 shithouse teams we could have easily beaten on paper. Not development... a step backward.

Spot on. That's why no one is saying "KILL CARRAZZO KILL CARRAZZO". Just pointing his weaknesses... weaknesses for his development, he needs to work on. It'll take time, of course, but if he's in the Navy Blue he's got to be under scrutiny even despite his age an inexperience... because we demand success. Either now (premierships) or in the future (development). Hence, we're using this board as a way of communicating, debating, discussing HOW we can go about that development process.

All constructive stuff

Thanks Tyrant - exactly the kind of discussion I was after initally.

Exactly the point I was trying to make - I agree we have deficiencies but as you say human nature being as it is - we are not always willing to accept those deficiencies.

Yep agreed again - however given North are unbeaten one could suggest they are not shithouse. However I do understand what you mean.

And thats the type of Debate I like - IMO some posts in debates recently on the site have not been constructed in the manner you have just described. I am not saying that that is the way they should be done and thats it I just hate thoughtless criticism. The method of debate you have described shows thought and thats all good!!

North aren't just unbeaten; they've defeated the Swans (who beat the Lions as well) and the Saints, two top 6 teams from 2004. NOrth are the surprise packet insofar and have done very well.

Then stay out of the debate.

All debate is healthy if the people conducting it are getting something out of it, no matter what that is. So long as it stays within the site regulations, it belongs here.

My point above is that saying "your posts aren't constructive" is elitist drivel. You just stay out of the debate, or find a creative way of making a comment about that debate. Like the "Get Jonathon Brown' thread... I mean, many of us have had a go, but in parody on the initial post.

You've got to be tolerant of other people's interests and methods. The fact that no one has been banned from the site since Saturday is evidence enough that this thread isn't necessary.

What you're doing is being elitist. You've changed now from saying people are over critical, to saying that now they post in a way that doesn't generate "proper" debate. Well, the fact that people respond to their posts is testimony against that.

COOPERFIDIES mate. Remember that. Everyone has a say... and there are site guidelines about what shouldn't be said. No one's crossed those, so, in the interests of respecting other people's right to love the Blues in the ways they want... its play-on.

Call me a football "purist", but anyteam featuring Michael Firrito and Shannon Watt cannot be a good team, by definition.

Note the use of the word 'to'. Tyrants, I married a Docker fan, and now she's true Blue.

Agreed Tyrant regarding North

The game plans they implement are for that day specifically, not for the whole season. They do not have a game plan that will be successful in September; if they get that far.
