No he was playing well, but with Lance, Fev and Waite starting in the forward line - no DeLuca!

Problem is, our strength is supposedly our tall forward line, but with the delivery they get, they'll never pose a threat

Why Setanta over Bryan??? We have a guy on our list who can kick a ball 60m and hit a target. He has to be given a go. I don't care about his attitude, we have to see if he can do it - i bet he would have attacked the ball in the last quarter and taken that mark! One of the worst moments in the last 5 years!

Good point, that makes 3 players that would do a better job than De Luca, even with our relatively poor list.

What an absurd situation Deluca presents.

As Tyrant mentioned the other day, this is a guy who is so aware of the fact that he can't mark that he decides to wear a ridiculous pair of gloves in some lame attempt fix it.

And this is were it becomes absurd. First he was a useless player that couldn't mark. Now he's a useless player that can't mark who wears gloves.

Bring on JK!

Did anyone else hear DP before the game say that since ADL has had the gloves on he has started to take some grabs!! Is DP for real!!?? I'm starting to question his sanity when he says stuff like that!

Agree, Agree, Agree
Our team is crying out for the Bears long pin-point passing, not to mention the fact that the guy can actually mark. Deluca has been given more than a fair go.
Did I mention I agree?

SOME grabs. I'm sorry but that is just not good enough. Even if he took SOME grabs, and managed to bring the ball to ground in other contests, a la Spalding, then he might be of SOME use. But sadly no, he is SOME kind of useless.

Deluca is leading the Triple M worst player award quite convincingly at the moment.

Might be a nice guy off the field, but be serious Pagan the kid needs to be shipped out.

yep was shocking my patience is running out

I think ... hope the Kennedy is blooded this week spoke to someone who is involved in the Bullants and says he is better than they expected in the small amount he has been in the couple of games this season in the Bullants. If he isnt given a go next week and as i said in another post drop Deluca and like Murphy let him go into the big time

Easy decision DP frop Deluca - in Kennedy

Look I'm not one to bag a player who is being toyed with in terms of his development, Deluca should be learning how to ruck because that's where I see value in what skills he does possess. We know he can't body-on-body ruck for crap but he's reasonably successful at centre bounces and could develop his tapwork in the right environment.

This environment is not AFL-level.

Anyway, thought this might make some of you laugh, title and sub-title of a post-match interview with ADL on the AFL/Bigpond streaming site:

Quote:
Skill errors hurt: Deluca
Carlton forward Adrian Deluca believes his team's poor disposal cost it a chance of beating Richmond.

The worst part about it tonight was that someone (murph or houlihan) set him up with a beautiful pass in the 4th quarter and all he had to do was extend his arms and mark it a metre out if front of him like Waitey's does and we may even have pinched the win.

But what did he do? tried to take some dinky likely quasi-chest mark and the Richmond defender got a spoil on. Dermie and Lyon couldn't believe it.

Out: Deluca
In: Kennedy (and I don't care if he's not match fit. he'll give us more in a half than deluca will in 4 quarters).
