Bannister vs Deledio is what I want to see. See how Bannister is travelling.

With Knobel set to play expect Stafford to be parked in the goal square with Richo and Simmonds floating around also.

Saddles has to play on Staff, T-Bird on Richo is our best bet and it would actually play into our hands if Richo pushed up the field as this is where I believe T-Bird is best. Whitnall on Simmonds, Walker on P.Bowden.

For the first time in 3+ years we are partially playing a game style which caters to our strengths.
Lance will flourish under this current game plan as a forward.
The players are finally being allowed to create play, pick options and deliver the ball to a player instead of an area.

Leave Lance up forward.
Not only will he benefit from Fev coming back in but Waite and Fish will benefit as well. They will attract the 3 and 4th best backmen.

Be proactive.
We have won more than our share of contested ball, we just need the confidence to retain a structure to kick to.
Are you listening Denis? :)

Walker v Tuck - Head to Head - Awesome
Whitnall - down back
Waite, Fev, Fisher, Betts, Murphy

McGrath - Thorton - Carazzo
Lappin - Whitnall - Saddington
Houlahan - Walker - Simpson
Fisher - Waite - Kouta (if he is fit - if not, FFS dont play him)
Betts - Fevola - Murphy

French - Stevens - Bentick

int - Russell, Deluca or O'Halphin, McClaren, Scotland or Bannister

like most games, the danger is the midfield, we win that, our forward line is powerful enough to win the game, conversly, we lose that, i think Richmond has a quality forward line to win the game.

Midfield is the key.

Bentick on Coughland
Stevens on Johnson
Walker on Tuck
Carazzo on Deledio (when Deledio is on the ball)

all to be defensive but also provide plenty when they ahve it as well

McGrath has to be dropped for Livo becuase of Richmond's height in their forward line. Russell probably won't get a game because of his concussion, Banno will come in for him.

*Not sure about Archie in defence, but he'll match him for height.

..lookit, it goes like this.. ..the big red machine will indeed flourish with the current gameplan.. ..that gameplan bein' the noah's flood.. ..we all know the big red likes room to move, and he certainly will have it up forward the way we're playin' these days.. ..also, imagine fev and lance up forward.. ..sure, it's been tried before.. ..with some success, and with some not so success eh.. ..but has it been tried with fisher and waite in the mix as well..??.. ..i'm not sure it has been, i could of course be wrong.. ..i mean, stranger things have happened eh..haha..

..and, lets not try it fer one friggin' game.. ..try it over a few at least eh.. ..fisher and waite will blossom with lesser defenders on 'em, as will betts and lappin in a pocketo.. ..thats my ideal forward set-up.. ..lets see dem steeeenky tigers try that on fer size..

..as for our backline, some folks keep on beatin' that damn livo tamborine.. ..give it up, livo's not even chopped liver.. or rather, i mean, he could be, if he tried.. ..but, unfortunately fer us all.. ..livo ain't no super fullback.. ..lookit, livo to carlton, is what nicholson is to the demons.. ..do you really want a fullback thats a hack, to hang around our list fer ten yrs like nico has fer the dee's..??!!.. ..sure, both have had their good games.. .but hell, that's just goin' by the numbers.. ..odds are, that eventually any guy is gonna have a good game.. ..but we ain't goin' anywhere if we're all gonna back livo, and than cross any digit we have in the hope that he plays well.. ..thats what i call, an exercise in futility..

..now, as to who we play as fullback.. ..well, once the ball gets bounced positions on the field go the way of the dodo.. ..ergo, they don't exist.. ..just like the phantom CHF, FF's move around a hella lot.. ..few are rooted to the goalsquare.. ..i reckon thornton can handle richo.. ..not so sure about stafford and simmonds.. ..as fer knobel playing..he's a hack, and not worth losing sleep over.. ..and brown (courtesy to the dee's) ain't gonna be playing so fev won't have to sod him this year so thats good too..

..onto the tigers midfield.. ..i don't rate 'em.. ..sure, a few get the numbers up in the possies department.. ..but few are all that damagin'.. ..now, some would say that that, actually mirrors our own midfield at times.. ..and those crusty buggers are right, mores the pity.. ..but i reckon we can take their midfield, and take 'em all tha way to the cleaners..

..so, if we don't win, and if fev doesna kick his 100 in this game i shall be sorely dissappointed..!!..

Apologies if posted already, but apparently Cleve Hughes will debut for Richmond. Should be interesting to watch.

maybe i can be of some assistance blue vain... i'm fluent in jive

aiit?

just getting back to the thread, i seriously hope (and seriously doubt) that deluca wil be omitted. he is a liability. sure he finds the ball. but its mostly because his opponents are happy to let him get it around the wings knowing that there is probably 2 out of 3 times that he will cough it up, and almost every time will hold the ball and take half an hour to make up his mind what to do with it..... before bombing long to a pack of 10 players.

the one thing i want to see is no flooding. back the boys and see what unfolds. sure the tiges might get a few more than what they would if we had gthe flood but at least we will be able to get some faster ball movement into F50, which will suit us very nicely. please be pro-active and not re-active denis. these boys have the talent to make the play, just give them a chance to show their wares.

Yeah I saw that in the Herald Sun..newbies first up can sometimes start with a bang so best if we dont underestimate him and get the right matchup size/pace wise...more of a leading type player than a big pack marking type i am led to believe..I'll be wathcing also how Richard Tambling goes if he stays in the team....very big reputation when drafted but injuries slowed his progress..with Nathan Brown sidelined he could step up...

Richmond's team apparetnly.

B: Newman, Kellaway, Raines
H/B: Hartigan, Hall, J Bowden
C: Tivendale, Coughlan, Johnson
H/F: Tambling, Richardson, Pettifer
F: Stafford, Hughes, Krakouer
R: Simmonds, Deledio, Tuck
I/C: Hyde, P Bowden, Rodan, Foley
Emergencies: Jackson, Pattison, Knobel

In: Krakouer, Hughes (new)

Out: Jackson, Pattison

It may well change, but I can't help but think it looks good without Knobel in the side. I reckon we can cover Stafford.

We should look at exposing their backline - Kellaway, Hall, J Bowden and maybe P Bowden need to control Fevola, De Luca, Waite and Fisher respectively. You can see why the Fish usually dominates against the Tiges given these matchups!
