From where I stand I have no problems with either Kenndy or Bower.

IMO they are both a chance to get a game this year. I would prefer Bower to Teague and I doubt thet Kennedy would play any worse that O'halpin did on Friday night. There is certainly a player who is just not ready for senior AFL.

Got no doubt at all that both will be superb LT players for this club.

I have seen a lot of footy - like some of you on here. I simply cannot understand why anyone would say that Josh Kennedy's game was not good on Saturday...they obviously know nothing about the game. I'd be happy to sit next to them at the footy and explain it should they wish. I'd also be happy to put a large sum of money in their wallet if Josh Kennedy does not prove himself to be a quality footballer within 2 years. I saw Riewoldt and Koschitzche when they were raw...JK bought back memories of both these 2. I left the ground disappointed...I'm off to Japan tomorrow morning for 2 weeks - and I think I'll miss Josh Kennedy's first game....then again - I think there's a fair chance I'll see plenty more :)

I think it was the ghost of Spalding past, who sat with them and told them Kennedy was shit.... he also tells them to burn things....

I agree with you DRSHERRIN.
I love what Kennedy does to a team.. he straightens them up and offers a target.

Could we see Bower become out Harris-esque fullback? Quick off the mark, provides some run but also some smother of forwards????

Isn't it great to have possible future options?

A forward line containing:

- Kernahan, Maclure, Dorotich and Motley :( , now thats what I call some options.

Sorry my mind drifted right back to to 1986.

I think Travis is the one they hang ther hats on, and partly why they recreuited the older two VFL players.

Josh just needs more match fitness, and yeah Bower showed a bit and will be interesting to see how he goes.

KPP players win premierships, Pagans old game plan wins premierships.

After this years draft you will see a huge influx of KPP talent that in 3-4 years will see the game evolve back to traditional Pagan style of kicking it long to a contest. If you watched the last 10mins of the Bulldogs and Cats game they were buggered and reverted to bombing it long, now if either team had a decent forward to take a mark then we may of had a completely differert result.

What better example of the value of a KPP player than Lance on Friday night.

Agree 100% KP football will return in at least half the games played very soon. There was a real deficiency in KPP drafted over the last 5-6 years and sides like the dogs have had to evolve to suit.

They will be caught "short" in the finals and in years to come cecause they don't have genuine KPPs.

I think we are in a pretty handy position with a mix of speed, ability and strength. Our best 22 will be good enough to mix it with most.

Spot on!! The kid has had a limited preparation, and still has an impact a VFL level. Always plays in front, works really hard off the ball, chases, tackles .... there is just so much to like about him .....

I better have a cold shower!!!

Josh will be the Face of Carlton in the near future..

Just think a Foward line containing Fevs, Waite, & Kennedy
Oh and some guy named Fisher 8)

We will stretch any defence thrown at us, these times will be remenisant of the Carlton of old.....Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :-D

Bower did look good- looked quick which will be useful as a tall defender - will make him more flexible in terms of matchups.

I thought JK looked really promising - he didnt finish off perfectly and he did get tired, but i really liked his technique when attempting marks - he really got into position in the pack really well and had his arms high up. With that technique, the ball is gonna stick as he gets bigger and more experienced. I thought he was ok on the ground, and number of times he dived on the ball or laid tackles. I also think he is easily quick enough for a key posn player. i am a fan.

Of course Tyrant you know that the death card actually symbolizes re-birth, so perhaps what it really was telling you that he will single handedly be the person for bringing Carlton back to its helcion days, despite the fact that he is tall, slow and crap.

I for one was impressed with both Bower and Kennedy, particularly Bower, and I say that only because I expected Josh to be a bit more advanced, but Bower really surprised me...I really enjoyed the fantastic across the body pass he did that went straight on to the chest of a team mate...these 2 will both play this year and i expect by round 22 will be permanent fixtures in the 22. If not oh well, im just saying i expect it, particularly when we have a few duds in the current squad they could replace easily.

People just expect high drafted players to be stars straight away now, which is ridiculous. Gee, Mal Michael is always talked about as a top full back, but gee he was average at Collingwood for a few years, hence the trade for Jarred Molloy (!)

Talk to me in 3-4 years about an 18 yo key position player
