I have been thinking about offering my services at Carlton footy club. I am going to ask if I can play in the Forward Pocket, but barring that I figure I could help out around the place.

Do any of you here volunteer? Is it worthwhile? Or am I better off feeling like I have contributed by buying my membership this year.

There's heaps to be done but I am not sure that the Club is sufficiently well organised to put you to best use.

Do what I do - devote yourself to the Blueseum which will end up in the Club's hands sooner or later.

hands up if you thought I'd reply like that?

I volunteered to be Marc Murphy's "oiler", but he already had one (The Shag)

Yeah good idea molsey.:)

I have signed up as tralby (cause da dada da dah has spaces in it) :)

Suggesting trawling thru old scrapbooks, vids and newspapers to provide some colour to the wonderful work already done by blueseum champs.

Saw youin there - welcome!

What I think the site needs is some more colour - some memories of say 1987, big wins in the early 1990's, our troubled days of 97/98 and even our first spoon in 2002 - surely we can all remember all of the games?

I'd volunteer to be 'Team leader" for the girls in the social club.... and I'm a very "hands on" manager

Mr T - we're talking about stuff that benefits the Club. Not stuff that keeps you warm in winter.

Me too, my mate does it, tried to get Rowan to get me a spot back in 93, 94, 95, 96 but no luck. He did get me into the rooms after some games.
The only way in then was to have a old man or uncle that use to do it and stuff like that. Completely volunteer work, but would do it in a flash...

I hear that some board positions may need to be filled "da dada da dah"

I can add to thhe Carlton board my business acumen of....ahhh....library skills, music and...ahhh...and I will have to make sure the player that gets the number 53 will be considered the appropriate player for that number. 8)
