the gold one is definately a goer. Richmond's silver one looked shite in last year's wizard cup and i think the plain yellow is a touch low rent.

Gold or orange?

What is the problem with Orange if people seem to like the gold?

I'm not offended, I'm just curious.

Plus, Orange is part of Carlton's traditional colour scheme, which is why I chose it for my design. (Mentioned in The Age, in case you didn't realise  )

Yellow? Yuk. Or at least don't make it so yellow.

Looks too Richmond for mine

I reckon use the Heritage one (thanks Warby!) but just make it a lighter shade of blue

Choice two - Deano's VB jumper: works with the Dan Murphy's logo to boot!!

nothing clever happening here .. nothing to see .. move along quietly

FWIW, I'll also alert the club (again) to our thoughts/progress on this matter too.

Thanks Liam. I reckon we get down to our best 4 or 5 and then present them to the club. This thread has been a good working tool.

Just my opion, BUT I think Gold and silver look great as colours, but as a fabric they look crap unless it's a full on lamee type thing (HEAVEN forbid!)

That's why invariably Green and Gold Australia stuff is really just green and yellow.

Also why the Richmond (or the jumper Campo trialled last year) look crap in Silver

again...jmho

Really like the one on the left...Keeps our traditional colours and looks great! 8)...Just looks a bit off-centre though (i know it's probably the desired effect)

Agree that the tiggers looked crap, but it was GREY not silver. To do the silver justice (or the gold for that matter) it should be a metallic (of sorts) finish to the fabric ala the SF 49ers in the NFL.

Will clubs look for sponsors with a clash guernsey and would that effect the colour it will be? (Like our m&m top and StKilda's yellow big M one.)

Mrs Caz, yes I agree. If we do a gold then it has to be metallic. I think that this would be a classy look though. No one else is using gold and mixing it in the the navy blue and white would look great IMO.

KK....I take it by saying I was wrong you really meant to say that I had a different opinion of your proposed orange guernseys?

Or am I wrong (in your opinion) in saying that the orange guernsey has no class whatsoever?

So everyone with a different opinion is wrong? .....and that's it?

Come on Warby, you know KK's going to be overly possissive of his precious orange design, no matter how shoddy it is...

Halford's got it in one.

IMO, my design has as much of a link to Carlton's heritage as any of the Blue versions.

And, I think the colours also mix quite well.

KK....you still didn't explain how I was "wrong" and that I "knew it".

Saying in your opinion the colours mix well doesn't explain that statement at all.

You keep going on and on about our Club's established history with the colour orange.

I have a wealth of Carlton history in my office; and can only find reference to Carlton wearing orange caps in 1864 as we were predominantly a Protestant Club.

There were no uniforms as such and teams wore coloured caps so the public could distinguish one team from the other.

In 1864/5 we added a blue stripe to our cap to distinguish us from the South Yarra Club who also wore orange caps.

It was this blue stripe that led to us being given our nickname of "The Blues".

We wore all blue caps from 1871 and some players wore blue shirts and long grey stockings.

This proved popular; and we added a white yoke to our guernsey made from chamois, which unfortunately turned yellow in the wash.

I was under the understanding that orange was a traditional part of the Club's colours due to the club being founded by Sir Redmond Barry (he of Ned Kelly fame), who was a loyal Orangeman.

If I'm wrong I'm happy to be set straight.

And how is saying orange and navy blue going well together not a valid reason for wanting that colour?

It's a better colour than the "West Coast Eagles Yellow", and silver? give me a break.

Look at the uniforms of the SES (yes, I know....personal bias), or even the Denver Broncos.

You really should just lighten up and take a joke as what it is.
