Can someone please mock me up a gold jumper, with white emblem and navy blue lining? It would be like the 006 jumper as outlined earlier in this thread, but with gold instead of white (I am not talking orange or yellow, but gold... perhaps like the gold in the jumper on the banner above). I am just wondering what it would look like. Thanks in anticipation.

Just to take this debate a step further, why are we limiting ourselves to one alternative strip?

Go to Europe, and you won't find one leading club that doesn't change its away version every year.

If you want an example closer to home, try the NRL.

As I posted earlier, let's get on the front foot, and not only be progressive, but culture changing as well.

And if you want an example of a code which has shit clubs, shit crowds, a shit culture, alienates it's fans, and is a joke, try the NRL.

The NRL clubs now have NOTHING in common with the clubs which started RL in NSW. Some call it progress, I call it pathetic.

Where are the Wests, Norths, Balmain, etc.

Hear Hear KK! .....when we lived in Brisbane; I followed Easts in the Qld.
Rugby League Comp......the Brisbane League HQ was Lang park, which was concrete terracing infested with 2 feet high weeds; unbelievable!

Goddamn. Tell us what you really think.

For some ungodly reason I was coerced into going to the Rd 2 St G/Ill-Pentrith game at WIN Stadium. Boring as all get-out (even the dedicated NRL fans said as much), @#$%&! hot, no real atmosphere at all. When 15000 is considered a good crowd at Telstra Stadium, you know something's wrong.

The NRL is a joke. Nowhere as much of a joke as the AFL is now though...

True KK, the clubs of today have nothing in common with the clubs of the original NRL, but it also has nothing in common with the state that Rugby League was in prior to the current version.

While NRL crowds are crap by AFL standards, they're way ahead of where they were in the 1980's. I remember going to an Easts vs. Wests game which drew 2,000 spectators.

The culture of rugby league was as bad, if not worse, during earlier days. Rugby league had alienated crowds and supporters, and it's only in recent years that crowds have started to return

While you might describe it as pathetic, if the NRL hadn't acted as it did, the competition wouldn't exist today.

I'll get howled down for this; but I think Fatty's Footy Show is much more informative and entertaining that ours here in Melbourne which is manned by inflated egos.

Both shows are utter crap which are hosted by hasbeens who are desperate to keep their brown noses in the trough.

So both shows should be manned by current players only?

No media work for ex players? .....only current players?

If ever you want to see an example of the bogun elements of Australia then especially tune in to the NRL footy show, but the AFL footy show is not far behind.

Let's tune in now. What do we see?
1. Grown men running around playing childish pranks against each other,
2. Grown men dressing up and thinking that they can sing,
3. Grown men dressing up and thinking that they can act,
4. Grown men trying to outdo each other with snide remarks laced with sexual innuendo.

Football is barely half the content these days. Nah! Not for me.

You haven't met an over-inflated ego until you've met Fatty.

At this juncture; I must say that I don't watch either show.

I only ever watched the Melbourne show because a mate of ours is one of the cast; but even that is not enough reason now.
