Pagan should make some major changes to show that 3 crap games except one quarter wont be tolerated and is unacceptable especially after our pre-season form

Yep went to the game and like most pissed off and dissapointed with how we played today. one of the few teams i neva like to loose to IE the Filth / the Bombers / Terry Wallets Tiges.

That said i think that Pagan should make a statement and make some players work hard to get in the seniors as we have had too many passengers in the first 3 rounds and are lucky we are not 0-3 thanks to the Bombers dropping off last week.

We should have made changes this week due to the temp today and Played players like Banister / Walker as they have bigger tanks and can play out a match which some of our players didnt today

players who i felt played okay today -
French - 3 games and has been dominant Ruck in all 3 games works his guts out and thank god he aint injured is earning his wages definately

Stevens - 27 touches and if he had some help would have been far more damaging but played well today considering he played most of the 4 qurters in todays heat - took a great hit and still got up and went to the contest

lappin - Good game today for 3 Quarters ran out of gas in final quarter but got 3 goals and was down back and forward

Waite - 3 goals today should have kicked more some disposal errors but kicked more than both Fev or whitnall and just need to improve his fitness to play out 3-4 quarters

Players who showed something but not for 4 Quarters
Betts - was a sprk in forward line until he had Hamstring problems in the Third Quarter and when he came on wasnt able to get back in the match but he showed why he is important

Deluca - But in second half suffered when he was made primary target as 3rd tall he is still valuable

Players who where ordinary but cant afford to drop
Kouta - Chad Tagged him well and hopefully next week will have a better game may have suffered in the heat or just had a bad game

Scotland - Poor game by what we have seen previously needs to lift but still needed in the side

Teague - played okay but ordinary by his standards

Whitnall - Not great game but still not poor either just been used to much to plug holes and not play in forward line as he weas used in Wizza games

*Campo - Poor game too easyly takin off his game by Holland who kicked
3 on him and will prob be a forced miss though suspension

Karl Norman - only be in as T-Bird and Livo out if both return he may would easily be out

Fev - Poor hope he gets a bake and wakes up and starts to polay like he did in the pre-season but has to be played

Carrazo - Still feel he is needed on a small forward works better when we have T-Bird / Livo / Teague in there especially T-Bird but he is our best forward pocket Defender - though he still needs major improvement on disposal and decision making

Mcgrath - Poor game by his standards but does have skill and first 2 games where okay and he is a another tagging option

PLayers who prob need to be cut - Played poorly and havnt been able to play consistantly for the last 3 games
Wiggins - Tries hard but not doing anything

Morrell - Played in defense found wanting on all occasions if he can be put in forward line may just save his position if in Defence will need to be dropped cant cut it as a 4 Quarter Defender

Houlihan - Been really disappointed with his 3 games so far if he is injured dont play him if he isnt then he needs a Kick up the Backside and made to earn his spot back
Davies - Back in Seconds to learn to kick those easy goals

Sporn - Just think he has done Sweet FA yep he did contain Caracella but had zero impact himself and Caracella still had some inpact

Johnson - Didnt do enough when he was on the ground not sure how much he played but had little impact

Prenda - Could be so much more still showing little but may save his spot due to be used as back up ruckman

So Changes to be made
Wiggins Out - Walker in should have played today end of story

Sporn out for Banister - Hopefully he will take on the tagging role nad be more damaging himself

Davies Out - Longmuir who is a estblished player give him the chance now that he has has a full game under his belt

Johnson Out - for Simpson and give him a decent run he is skillfull needs more game time if he dosnt perform when given a proper go then we can make a better assesment

Prenda Out - Chambers in as i think he will provide more than a second string back up ruckman / Or even clarke but i am still not a big fan of his but he has played okay in Bullants

Either Karl or Digby out for Livo has to come in as at least he can play fullback which neither of these 2 can

If Campo is suspended then Houla will prob stay in but if we have to replace campo may be a good chance to put in J Russell as he is pacey and wont be tagged lol

constructive comments and feedback would be great

cheers

Agree we need more runners like Walker, Bannister etc but I would pick Chris Bryan this week if he does ok for the Bullants.

Brogan, Primus and Lade will be too much for French and Lade needs a real tall player not a 190cm pretend tall when he plays forward.
If we had problems with Collingwoods talls then its going to be real tough vs Port with their variety and array of talls.
We need another big body and we need to give French some rest or he will burn out...time for Mickstars man to make his debut....
Kade Simpson played ok against port last year and I want him in the team..and lgiven a decent run of games...

Unfortunately only injury and suspension will keep Norman and Hooligan in the side. Please Denis put Morrell on Lade and Norman on Tredrea? I'm just thankfull that the game probably won't be on T.V, and we won't have to watch a belting due to the AFL's not giving a rats about Victorian sides playing interstate.

Judging from the 5th Quarter last night, we may be without Scotland and Campo for a few weeks

Our depth is really going to be tested over the next few weeks. it appears that a few of the boys are a bit flat, maybe carring injuries. The trips away with nothing to lose might be good for us.

BTW what did denis say at the after match press conference ?

I would make a few changes to the side for this week:

OUT: Davies, Carrazzo, Johnson, Campo (suspended)

IN: Livingston, Walker, Bannister, Longmuir

I'm on the drop-Carazzo-until-he-fixes-his-disposal bandwagon. I'm extremely disappointed that he can't seem to make the right decision under pressure. Bentick is a better option, although slower and can't play as a defender as well as AC. Bentick doesn't panic with the ball and I know that if he has the ball, he will kick it to a target or least kick it long to a 50/50 which is better than what AC currently does.

Mind you, I think some people are overreacting. That said, there are some players there who have gotten big heads and need them kicked back into place.

IN: Walker, Chambers, Bannister, Bryan, Livo (On the proviso Karl is dropped)

I would like to see Bryan down back.
Walker down back.
Chambers and Banno in the middle.

Reckon Walker could play out of a back pocket and use his speed and skills to create off of the backline.

Bryan to counteract Lade/Brogan/Thurstans.

Chambers to give us more pace in the middle.

Bannister to give us another midfield option and a better tagging option.

Anyone else think Eddie might be worth a go in the middle?

His tackling and ball-getting ability/anticipation are great so far.

I've been getting frustrated that the opposition seem to get too many of Barney's hit-outs.

Doesn't have the tank to run it out in the middle.
Give him2-3 years and he will be able to play forward pocket, and perhaps in the middle, for 3 or 4 quarters.

Surely Johnson won't play next week. He'd be every chance to miss wherever we play, but certainly at a big ground where you need to run hard and fast (like AAMI).

Time for Sporn to have a rest.

Unless they don't want to reward Norman for his lack of intensity, I'd rather drop Morrell for Livo. I reckon it's about time they gave Setanta a go (if they can find a way to upgrade him). We don't have much to lose over the next 2 weeks.

I dont understand why everyone wants Sporn dropped. :?
Blake Caracella was Collingwoods leading goalkicker in both the 1st and 2nd rounds.
Last week he had 20 touches, 4 clearances, 7 inside 50s and kicked a third of Collingwoods score.

Yesterday he kicked one goal and was nowhere near a matchwinner.
Who was assigned the task?

a) He has done nothing offensively in 3 games
b) He may have contributed to limiting Caracella's output but no more than Caracella himself - Caracella is an inconsistent hack
c) He is one of the players who looks half asleep on the field with a lack of desire, hunger and fighting spirit
d) Jordan Bannister could take his spot, provide the tagging option but also provide offence and pace
e) He is talented and a kick in the ass and a run in the 2s could wake him up

Seriously we need to line everyone up at training and continually poke them in the eyes until they get angry - then we might play hard.
That or make them watch a bette midler movie over and over again somethings gotta get these boys angry

Ahhh so we dont want him to limit the oppositions most creative player, we want him to be offensive as well!
Jarrod Crouch had 6 possessions yet was named in Sydneys best.
Looks like he'll be in the VFL with Mal Michael, Hudghton, Penny, Watt,Sansbury, Baker, plus plenty of other players in negating roles who had less than 10 possessions.

If all our players who were assigned defensive roles were as effective as Sporn, we wouldnt be discussing why we lost.
The last time Bannister was assigned a job on a midsize goalkicker was Russell Robertson in the Wizzer Cup.
How did that go? 5 goals in 2 quarters?

I think theres about half a dozen players who deserve a run in the VFL before Sporn.
