So that's 1000 new members from the telethon - good work boys.

I heard a Matthew Lappin interviewed on Monday after our win. He spoke about the telethon and the fact that he made calls for 1 hour and could not get 1 member to renew!

There was a small article in the papers today saying that we were quickly closing in on 22,000 and may reach that by the end of the week....Also that about 400 new members joined either at the game on Sunday or after it...Amazing what a win can do!

Just at the tail of this article Malouf says we've caught up on 5% of the 15% we were down on last year. Not sure if that means 1/3 of it or just 5% of the shortfall has caught up - but sounds positive.

Also the very last line about 3x the game day sales has to be a positive.

If we can hit 30,000 all things considered, they'd have to be happy, wouldn't they?

He means we're only 10% behind budget now. If we can beat freo then they will sign up in droves at the Sydney game. I few more early wins and I reckon 30,000 is acheivable. That would be 10% down on last year which is probably what they budgeted for.

Let's hope there is some sort of surge in sign ups for our 1st home game as that number is terribly disappointing... :(

Just heard that the AFL shop in Ballarat has had a lot of people buying Carlton merchandise this week, a family member just bought the last Carlton jumper in the store yesterday. :-D
