It's all a bit confusing....Kouta's photo promoting 2005 with the Club Fixture showed him in a jumper with serifs or notches on the emblem.

I like this jumper....isn't the old jumper without serifs or notches?

It's a bit like ordering a pizza without pineapple....shouldn't pineapple be an extra you have to ask for?....like egg in an Aussie?....I'll have a Carlton jumper and can I have notches with that?

Hmm yeah kinda.

But this thread wasn't really about the jumper, it was about the logo. For years while we had the more angular logo like the pic of Kouta, we still had the logo.

It's the problem with this modern notchless society that's getting me down.

We've all gone Arial crazy, er sorry, Sans-Serif.

OK....now I understand; I'll betcha some marketing wunderkid thought we should "modernise" the logo by going notchless....less is more?

Bring back the notch!

Maybe the notchless look isn't so bad after all. 8)

Perfect record, so far!

i personally think the hertiage jumper monogram is the best one of the "new" breed, but last nights isnt terrible either.

Doesn't look as classy...

but perhaps the classiness of the logo is inversely proportional to the class of the players.

Yeah, it still looks wrong to me. Kind of like Superman without his curl.

This looks great.

Clean lines/no sharp edging etc. this is as close as we are going to get to the 1920-1997 guernsey.

i like the new one more than the 1998-2004.

clean lines - just like the way we played footy on the weekend.

With almost a season having past for us to get used to the new Carlton Football Club logo, adopted by the 'former' board without consultation with the members, which club logo do you prefer; the old or the new?

P.S. As I have been hopelessly unable to work out how to attach images of the old and the new logos to this post, I would be most appreciative if someone a bit more familiar with the technology would oblige. Thanks. :?

Welcome to the site Steve. But, it's been almost 2 years for the new "fashionable" logo, and here's a few threads that share your vision!

I'm with you, and hammer, bring back the notches!

Geez, time flys camelboy! Two years already. I knew the topic and the poll had been done before, but was keen to see if the new logo had grown on anyone since it was adopted. It hasn't grown on me or, more importantly, my young nieces and nephews who like the old classic one better. Bring it it back I say!

Oh, the one other point I would make is that I was not talking about the emblem on the jumper, but the official club logo - i.e., it's more than just about the notches.

Bring back the old guernsey - full stop.

The old one we had with the big bold monogram,

the one that big nick wore,
the one that harmesy wore,
the one that johnston, doull, sergio etc wore.

big - bold monogram - stop fiddling around with all these arty ones.

look at the new york yankees logo - the letters are all joined together.

NYC not N Y C with arty gaps... bring back the CFC.

Absolutely, let's at least LOOK like who we are , CARLTON .

The 'notches' logo will eventually triumph just as the team will.
The 'notchless' logo will come to signify the bleak time between Carlton's dominant periods.
