Thought this might be a good thread to consolidate everything under.

The team didn't seem to turn up to play today. Our decision making under pressure was awful - we didn't seem to play very good team footy. We didn't play direct footy and tried to muck around with it.

There are some players who will be under the gun unfortunately. I have some time for some players but my patience with some of them is running out.

Carazzo is one. I know Cazzesman is a big wrap, but his disposal and decision making is costing us.

Key position depth is lacking - having said that, lose your two key defenders for a little while and every team would struggle. Brisbane without Michael and Leppitsch would be much less formidable.

Dont think Carazzo was the problem today, it was our key defenders Morrell and Norman, not enough Marking pressure and our key Forwards Red & Fev (Is this the same Fevola that played in the Fizz Wizz Cup)

Big Archie was the only guy constantly dominating in the air. Also when Eddie went off with hamstring tightness during the game we seemed to lack spark at ground level in the Forward Fifty. Davies tries hard but he's not that fast and his skills are only average.

Need some changes next week, maybe Chris Bryan who from all accounts is taking some nice grabs in the magoos, and hopefully Livingston is back to full fitness and can resume

Norman and Digby were probably serviceable until the Pies decided they could win it because we kept letting them back into it. Once Rocca and Tarrant decided to play they were completely out of their depth though.

With the exception of Stevens and to a lessor extent Lappin and DeLuca the whole team struggled today.

I though Sporn, Davies and Wiggins were particularily average. Waite had an impact at least. Johnson wasn't on much but didn't do anything when he was (I though I should say that cause that's what everyone says about Simmo when he gets 20 mintues in the seniors ....).

Our forward structure seems to have gone to pieces.

Campo will get a week for the elbow to the head on holland.

I doubt we can win next week, time to bring in Livo, Walker, Simpson (and just let him play), chambers and Bannister and see what happens.

Funny how your games you probably should have lost (last week) and you're games you probably should have won (this week) tend to even out over the course of a season.

Diggers was horrible today, slow and just....horrible.

Apart from the huge clanger in the middle I thought Karl was okay.

When it comes to Carrazzo, I think you have to size up his positives against his negatives. His positives are in front I reckon but you still wonder whether his negatives are really affecting the final result. I'd persevere with him.

The bad Campo reappeared today. Played for himself and his reputation today instead of playing for his teamates. Most of his possessions were soft receives.

I thought Licuria towelled us up in the middle. Gave them real leadership. A lesson for our young blokes.

Fev and Lance were well beaten but Archie and Eddie were ok.

Really puzzled by the result because even though we are weak in defense atm I thought over the ground we were certainties today.

Anyway, onwards and upwards.

Marking pressure was apalling. the ease at which The Filth were able to rebound from our F50 into theirs was pathetic.

Goal Kicking Practice all round!

The umpiring was diabolical to say the least. McLaren is a @#$%&! clown.

I'm shattered. It was a game that should never have got away.

Part of the problem would be that we had too many mid-to lower range players, and no one to take it up a notch.

Carazzo is good for us more often than not IMO. Yes, there was one instance where a poor handball cost us a goal. But take a look at how he won the ball in the first instance, that was to be admired. Also, later in the game he laid a strong tackle that forced a turn over resulting in a goal. So he may lack some polish, but he certainlu makes up for that with some admirable G&D. The biggest problem from him today was he went missing late in the game, sadly, he had plenty of mates, save for DeLuca and Stevens.

I may just be me, but I thought we stopped playing them all over the ground, and try to play too many back to cover Rocca and Tarrant. I think if we'd played man on man all over the ground and conceeded that Rocca and Tarrant would kick 5 or 6 we would have beaten them.

That was our 3rd game in a row in pretty 'warm' conditions. Anything to that playing a role in our performances, or is that just clutching at straws?

When the pies kicked out we didnt do anything. So many times opposition teams kickout and we dont touch the ball until the its into our defensive 50. I think we were very unlucky with the pies goalkicking accuracy.

We've had 21 pts kicked against us in 3 weeks which is obviously not a lot.

Forward line is a bit too one dimensional - too many leading forwards and no one who can take a pack mark.

You can bag Tarrant and Rocca all you like, but they can take contested marks which we can't do.

We had an eight day break from last Friday while the pies had a six day break I think.

No excuse imo.

Agreed. If anything we should have been able to outrun them.

We rely on too few:
Based on the 3 home and away games so far the following players aren't up to it:
Prenda
Davies
Wiggins
Sporn
Morrell.

Hard to win games when 5 blokes continually give you nothing

Digby is just so slow and weak. As an added bonus, he's really not tall enough to cover the big forwards either. Just seems to have no standout attributes, and has no strength or presence for a 'big' type of player. We missed Livingston badly today.

Norman really needs to start applying himself. A fair first half, but I swear a few times in the second half he simply watched Tarrant take the mark. Anyone know why he took himself off at the end of the game? Was he just plain old stuffed?

I love Wiggins, but he's not up to AFL standard. He really isn't.

I think Davies could use a few games in the Ants to A) Find consistency and B) work on his finishing. His sloppy attack on the man is probably his biggest weakness though. Gives away far too many blatant free kicks.

Carrazzo's decision making is a bit poor at times, but he was far from the worst today.

Would have liked to see Prendergast get more game time today.

Barnaby is a champ, Whitnall tried hard (harder than Fev), and Camporeale has once again proven he is not leadership material and will probably have a week off for his stupidity.

Stevens has to do everything in our team, he was everywere, but had no mates, was hard without our 2 big backman, and Norman is pox, Fevola had one of those days, and just bad luck all round.

I think it's a bit early yet to be calling for the delistings. We have obvious room for improvement, and our team is yet to play to the best of it's abilities, or play out a solid four quarters. Let's work on those deficiencies first, so we can really see how our list is travelling.

Does Pagan actually think Simpson is going to improve with 1 more game in the reserves? Dropping a quick player with good skills for the slower Johnson who can't kick over a jam tin defies belief! Walker and Simpson will have to come in to give us more run and if he's in form even throw Russell in! Sink or Swim.
Livingston in, Norman out to pasture! :x

R3: Pagan's press conference about to be on FoxFooty, I'm guessing it will be an edited version, but it was just mentioned on the Saturday Central program ... should be on soon.
