The most disappointing thing abut the meeting for me was that a number of members (and I'm not talking about loves Princes Park and the sound of his own voice Fisher from the USC) raised in a very rational and relevant way (Synbad being one of them) the issue of poor member communication and media/brand/marketing image, and all Collo could do was stick to his "we have a 3 year plan" script ... I could have made a far better response myself without the need to stick to a preordained set of well worn phrases which said nothing and just left many with the sense that real member concerns were neither being heard or addressed.

I do not really have a ptoblem with reducimg the AGM quorum, although 25 IS very low, and of course they had a large number of proxies in favour, given the resolutions this was what I expected (80% in favour).

My other concern is that the new policy of register once and you remain registered is NOT working in practice, as a number of people such as myself, who are certain they did register in 2005 membership (myself an AFL member and registered via fax), have discovered that they were not recorded as registered this year.

This is serious and needs to be addressed.

I know we all love to hate them, but look at what Eddie McGuire has done for Collingwood and look at what Rod Butterss has done for St.Kilda. Both of these people have increased the attractiveness of their club's brand despite starting from a bad position.

Now look at what Collo has done to increase the attractiveness of our brand despite starting from a bad position. Answer: Nothing.

Precisely my concerns as well.

The registration issues is a big one and it just seemed that the issue was ignored.

From the meeting the major issues worrying the supporters seem to be (in no particular order):

1) Problems with regards to the voting registration process.
2) Standard of social club facilities/future of the social club.
3) Board's ability to market the club.
4) Board's focus on reaching a cash neutral position in two years. By itself a noble goal, however it means we are treading water for 2 more years, surely some other initiatives can be made in that time.
5) Concerns over future AFL/CFC lease arrangements at Princes Park.

When it requires user input from a form into a computer, the process of registration is always going to fail. The club should have an interface on the website for a members login allowing the members access to restricted content as well as the ability to activate the voting rights. It's not hard to hook into a backended database to achieve this, the only problem I see is they would be too stingy to spend money on this feature.

Or it is not possible with Telstra??? Do any of the other 14 Telstra-aligned websites have restricted member access?

It is a fantastic idea though, and for a sport that can attract three quarters of a billion dollars in television rights, you'd reckon a decent infrastructure for a website wouldn't be too much to ask.

Spot on - I reckon local footy leagues with this sort of cash would do such a better job.

Synbad i do have a life outside of the Carlton Football Club and its website........ so what i suggest is you should do the same.

This may help you become a more positive individual who has a greater out look on life instead of a pig headed misreable fool who has to assert his power over a website to gain some kind of satisfaction over what i see as a sad and sorry 'outdated' man that only has one thing got going in his life...... and unfortunaltely that thing sit's at the bottom of the ladder and have an outdated board who can not keep up with the jones's.

You are a desease...... You well know the power you have on this website and using it to your advantage in ways mentioned above.

Get a life.........

I dont have any power on websites other than to make points that i believe are salient to a club i love.
I have a life outside of this.. but i wont lie and pretend Carlton is not a very important part of my life....

So now youre calling me a 'desease' are you???

I dont even know what it is.....

You get back to your 'clients'...
