Just to throw up some comparisons with other clubs, I managed to find the following figures:
Geelong - 26831
Hawks - 18000 (approx)
Demons - 18,098
Tigers - 23441
Saints - 26,221

I would guess that we would be tracking close to 10K lower than at the same time last year. I think we will be lucky to surpass 25K the way things are going. Whatever peoples opinions are I think a lot of Carlton supporters have simply dropped off because they have had enough of 4 years of sh!te and the general gloom and despair associated with our club nowadays.

You'd guess incredibly wrong I think, there's no way we were over 30,000 atthis time last year, we sign up late

Don't dampen down just yet, the season is starter a tiny bit later this year.

Here's hoping we pull out a half page ad in the sun like the tigers... though that was pretty laughable.

"Are you ready for tribal fever?"

Should be: "Stop flinging your fecal matter AND SIGN UP FOR A RICHMOND MEMBERSHIP NOW YOU SORRY APES!"

I would like to downgrade my allegation by 4K.

6K difference is still a worry regardless

That was season eve last year. It could well only be 4k or less after the footy show membership drive. Don't forget they're offering installment payments to those who lapsed so there's some more right there.

I don't think it'll be that bad after all the alarm bells earlier in the year.

It's about time they did, Sydney is loyal to no sport in this country, not really even NRL, so they had a huge market to tap and it took a bandwagon year for them to crack it. :P

City of 5 Million, One AFL team, just won the premiership and a ground so shit that if you're not a member you can't get in and 30,000 is the best they can do?

They're stuffed
and Gee the AFL's 15million a year marketting inot Sydney is money really well spent

It's not the fact they can or can't get 30K … it's the fact I've heard about it on local ABC radio, ABCB News Radio, FoxFooty News and FoxSports News. Why is this of national importance?!

I'm sure equal coverage was not given Australia wide last year when we signed a record number of members. :garthp:

Just called the club at 5.40pm and got the answering machine telling me the club won't be open again until Tuesday.

Simple thing, but these are the type of things you would expect in a small business just starting out.

Are you saying that people can not contact the club to buy a membership until Tuesday???? That can't be true 3 days before the first game....

Thats what the message said. Haven't changed it since the long weekend. We are so amateur as a club we can't even change a phone message.

That's hardly Collo and the board's fault

Anyway, membership drive tonight with the Footy Show you'd assume GO YOU BLUE BLOODS GO!

Might phone through mine, though I don't have a credit card (evil things).
