This sounds like a press conference with the media substituted for the general public. How pointless is that?

Someone at the club steer them into this forum - most people here want to help not run over the top of them.

Maybe you should have made an effort to attend?

As registered voting members what you dont get is were responsible for the $$$$$$$$$$$ if the club goes under... so you dont think people are entitled to answers?????

Its not like theyre demonstrating the word ' transparency' in the same way as they used it 3 1/2 years ago...

Were you there jimmae?? :?

Out of interest, anyone know which board members are up for re-election next year?

After Lee getting in, and Clarke just missing out, I reckon there will be some nervous directors this time next year. Let's just hope that some excellent alternative candidates are available next year...

Maybe we should run a fundraising campaign to put a full page ad in the fin review asking for talented, successful Blues supporters to put there hands up ;)

'Democracy is alive and well at the Carlton footy club' the returning officer reckons...my ass it is. So many people there complained that they weren't a voting member and didn't realise the process, and how would you when it's not communicated in any way?

The comment from the absolute flower in the middle that retaining Fev was the reason for the membership drop this year gets my award for dumbest person of the night.

Disgraceful to see Lance not attend, I'm sure he had more pressing (or filling) matters to attend to.

As a side note Jarusa I think I was sitting in front of you going by what you're saying

The guy who said its all Fevs fault was dressed in an astronauts uniform....

Yes, and no answer was given!!

Collo explained earlier that from 2005 onwards, if you register you remain registered as long as you remain financial. Problem is this has not been communicated well, and in my own case I am certain I faxed my registration form into the club December 2004 when I paid my AFL membership, but for some reason I was not registered according to the computer, so there is a breakdown somewhere in the process.

After the meeting finished he went outside and in slow motion slapped an Australian flag in the middle of the ground.......

I have kept my membership current every year since registering as a voting member 2 or 3 years ago, however I found out (thanks to TC) that I had to re-register. I think the problem was something to do with purchasing my membership over the phone. :?

Were you directly behind that lady who was scrawling notes throughout the meeting and did not so much ask a question but gave a ringing endorsement of the current board and then ended with the Kennedy-esque 'Do not ask what your club can do for you but what you can do for your club!'.

If so I was the fat bastard behind you in the brown shirt, sitting next to Danielle and The Sole Emoticon.

Come up and say hello next time, now you know my ugly mug.

Both Collo, and the staff I spoke to downstairs before entering the meeting, said that since 2005 you only have to register once and you should remain registered. On this at least the staff and Board seem to agree. However, the problem appears to be that for some unknown reason, the system is not working as they seem to think it is, and at least some people who HAVE registered last season are not being shown as registered in 2006.
