I'd put T-Bird on Robbo & Whitnall on Neitz.

Fingers crossed Moloney & Bruce don't play, we need all the help we can get

Hope they do play actually. Regardless of whether they've impressed in a half of a practice match, they will be short on match fitness if they take them in. I want them in actually and forced to chase our tail.

no one in our team can shut down robbo, because you need speed and smarts. I'd put thornton on his shoulder and sit lance infront of him. Livo on neitz and one hand on the bible.

Unfortunately Robertson is but one of several forwards for whom we just don't have a player who you can be even semi-confident will shut him down. I don't know who I'd play on him, possibly Bannister or even Sporn but then they aren't definite starters anyway. I fear that Thornton has neither the speed nor the footy smarts to stop Robertson and would avoid this matchup if at all possible.

Thornton has the smarts but not enough speed off the mark. It's Walker guys, he is the clear matchup and he'll do well if everyone else does the basics of their tasks.

Sudder! just got a vision of robbo standing on Lance "the human step ladder" Whitnall's head about 4 or 5 times.

i guess it depends on the dees delivery a bit and where lance actually possies himself but how many times have we seen a opponent on lances shoulders? lance either gets sat on for a speccie or is deeemed to be sheparding the player out of the contest.

just not convinced lance filling the hole would work as well on a robbo as it would some other forwards.

Will Nathan Jones get a game 55.Seems to be a ready made on baller.Has a 21 year old body for someone who has just turned 18.Look ok in some of the nab games.

He looks good and is just the type of insider we need. He may get a start with McLean out, another possibility is Bartram to run with Stevens. Bate is the third potential first gamer. I don't have any of them in my 22 this week but all will play plenty of footy this year.

Moloney will play but is out of touch and should hold few fears for you. Bruce is a bit different because he can hurt with just a few possession forward.

Who has been playing well in the pre-season for you? Bentick, Carazzo and Simpson seemed to finish 2005 strongly and Waite and Fisher are real talents. I have always liked Thornton and think he is a much better prospect than Ferguson.

robbo is one of the toughest matchups in the AFL let alone just for the Blues.

He can mark @ 184cm. He plays tall aka a Full Forward and is a good kick for goal.

Add a bit of confidence/arrogance in their and he is unstoppable.

I've seen clubs put talls like Scarlett on him (he kicked 7 that day) and smalls on him and he would kick a bag.

The best way you girls will stop him is if you pray and get some divine intervention.

I remember when he did sweet @#$%&! all. That's fairy land crap you've just brought in here. He is a strange player to matchup on but he's not impossible to matchup on, clubs just haven't thought it through well enough just yet.

We have a matchup and his name is Andrew Walker and if everyone else does a half decent job he will make Robbo look old.

It will be interesting to see who tags Stevens but wont be Phil Read after that match at PP a couple of years ago.
Agree expect bentick carrazzo simpson to all play and effectively they have gone past bannister sporn and wiggins but sporn I supect is a chance to play
Agree Fisher and Waite are exciting and only carlton supporters really appreciate how much we missed the fish early last year

i would play cory mcgrath on him, cory is our shut down player, i remember when we played collingwood at the end of last year and buckley was killing us, and i though to myself denis should put cory on bucks, about a minute later mcgrath was on bucks and he stopped him and shut him down. So cory for me.

Simpson has picked up where he left off - one of our most consistant through the preseason. He and Fisher were the standouts in the Dogs game. Bentick has been solid but not spectucular.
