I've been watching a heap of old games (in between episodes of Degrassi) and Anthony Koutoufides, time after time, is a marvel. His on ground leadership is amazing.

He doesn't say much off the ground, but on the ground his skills do the talking.

I can imagine why everyone at Carlton looks up to him, he is an amazing representative of the game, puts his head down and does his job...more than not better than anyone else. With a minimum of fuss, he runs and runs and runs...and runs.

Not many players are as good off either foot. He's pinpoint of each.

Before the knee, his marking was unstoppable.

Come Round 1 he'll be a 250 game player too!!!

your living in the past man - your hooked up on some clown named kouta (see seinfeld ) ..............anyways......................

its time to move on - i see even lance and lappin giving more on field leadership than kouta these days. give the captaincy to waite or fisher or another youngen - stevens aint the answer either.

Kouta gives 111% every game.

True fact.

Who could forget him stepping up to the fore in the 99 Prelim last quarter when it looked like we were going to get run over? His game against North in 2000 was the greatest performance I've seen from a Carlton player. He'll be joing Ken Hand's and the others in that special group in a few years.

You reckon?

I reckon he's one of the more reliable shots I've seen.

You got some stats Jars?

Close to a 60% success ratio...virtually the same as Fevola.

At least we got to see the best of Kouta. Injuries stopped Richo and The Ox from reaching their potential especially Schwarz who had an awesome end to 94 before doing his knee the following pre-season.

never say Ox and 94 in the same breath please! The memories are too painful.

..lookit, i like the kouta-roota-poota.. ..but the poor bastard's knee gave us the laugh twice, so he's never goin' to regain the incredible on-field presence he used to have that would carry the day now as captain.. ..he's argueably our best clearance player and his experience in our team is second to none.. ..but he's just too damn nice.. ..you still see glimpses of that special something he had none and then, but not with enough frequency and intensity for him to be a regular game-breaker.. ..however, with our team's young/soft bodies and (shall we say developing) skills we need him to unleash a bit of the mongrel.. ..onfield most teams will know that they can at the very least match us in skill and intensity.. ..so from that perspective we're going to be more often than not the underdogs.. ..so we really need kouta to start putting the fear back into the opposition..
