Fair point, Micky.

So what would you like them to come out and say to sway your vote their way (Clarke and Lee)?

Thing is PJ,everybody wanted like hell to get out of Optus Oval, which we did.
Everyone wanted the debt reduced, which they are doing. They say we will be debt free come 07.

The only sponsors we dont have is for the coach i believe ?
All in all, considering the deep shit we were in,i think the current group have done a pretty good job.Not brilliant, but pretty good all things considered.

Also,im big on loyalty. This group had the guts to put there hand up when most wouldnt go near the place.Everyone wanted Jack out,but volunteers to go in were scarce as hens teath.Im very wary of blokes that dont wanna go in for the hard ball. All of a sudden, when things are turning for the better, there are three blokes running past for the easy handball.Where were they three years ago ? Say what you like about the current commitee, but one thing for sure is they are rock solid. And thats counts for a lot in my book.Im not easily impressed ,and certainly not by showy marketing spin doctor types.

The debt hasnt been reduced really.

all that they did was receive the monies owed to us for the sale of AFL park and the telly rights and use that.. leaving us buggered for incoming revenue streams because they havent built on any new ones./... and the monies due to come to us over the next few years are gone.....

We dont have a coach sponsor.. (we actually do and it will be announced) but our corporate boxes are few and our coteries are down... and our mid range sponsors are down.

In fact were turning over 19 million and Collingwood is turning over 40 million.

The good clubs are into the 30s and the average clubs are mid 20s...

were right down with the clubs that have little support......

But yeah its all going perfectly well ....

To be fair to Lee even though he hasn't been on the board he has done a lot of work for the club and raised a lot of money.

Probably at least a million for a good one.

It would entitle you to:
Food, drink, enclosed seating away from 'the commoners' and the legal right to wave your nose in the air as you walk without being mugged.

Pretty sweet deal if you have a neck problem. :P

A 12 seat box would cost about 25k - 30k a season for home games.

The ones at TD are very good and include a waitress, bathroom facilities etc.

Wow, did I overvalue that or what... my experience with boxes has usually been at least 30 seat though, so I guess there'd be a discrepancy. :P

boxes are expensive.

Far better to rent than to buy.

You're slightly missing the point re: Sponsors. The fact is if you look at what they are getting for their money and compare it to other clubs - we're not doing great.

I love Dan Murphy as a sponsor - but they're getting a good deal and cheap...unfortunately Lexus, McDonalds, Sony, TAC and Emirates are paying Collingwood an incredible amount and Eddie's new job is an even bigger boon for these sponsors.

Not saying we are going swimmingly Synbad, but slowly but surely getting back on track.
You may very well be right in that we need new blood Synbad.Im just saying that the three challengers have to provide me with a good reason to ditch the present incumbants. And so far they have not provided me with anything fantastic, dramatic or awe inspiring to persaude me to vote for them.
Greg Lee seems to be getting the rave reviews.I have recieved his literature and heard him on the radio.Sorry, but he didnt impress me.Spoke well, yes. But he dodnt come up with anything new.He actually reminded me of a cross between Craig Kimberley and Clinton Casey. Both very smooth. But to much top show and not enough substance in my opinion and mine alone.Thats just how i read it Synbad.
