I'm enjoying this waaaay more than I expected! Bob Chitty is god!

BTW, rd 4 1996 has some text scroll issues - half the text is hidden behind the side bar on the right.

Sensational work Deano, really enjoying some of the tidbits you've uncovered.

1996 issues have been fixed - sometimes when there's lots of injuries or lots of goalkickers we need to add <br> to break up the data. Unsurprisingly, this doesn't seem to be a problem for 2002 onwards.

steve & wolfister - go for it, consider them reserved....

Found out some interesting info about Lance Collins, a half forward between 1942-1945. He's rumoured to have invented the banana kick!

http://www.australianrules.com.au/2003s ... noval.html

Other highlights at the Eastern Oval include the banana kick that old-timers swear they saw during a grand final in the late 1940s, a couple of decades before such a kick was said to be invented. Golden Point coach Lance Collins, a Carlton forward in the 1945 Bloodbath grand final, thrilled those jammed into the grandstand behind him when he curled the ball through the goals from the boundary line.

I remember reading about that in The Encyclopedia of AFL Players. Bill Young of St Kilda was apparently credited with it, but he said that he copied Collins. Cool stuff. 8)

Alright, 1945 GF is up (although I haven't done a match review yet), but I'll need someone's expert assistance in getting the breaks right - I've been stuffing with them for half an hour and still can't get the info to fit on the page!

Have just Updated the Lance Collins player review, thanks to some info gathered from a secret Jarusa source.

Have fired off an email to Phil Cleary to see if I can get any more info about him - hope I get a reply!

I don't remember the game so it's a great read, but I'll stay away from a report about that Essendon-Carlton match at PP.

Done, but I might look through some books to see what I can find on that infamous Grand Final.

Good stuff.

I've got some reference material here, once I've done my match review on the '45 gf (I'm up to half time - great game to review. If that time machine is ever invented I'm getting my arse to that game) I'll have a look into 1909 for you.

BTW Mols or Jars, is there a protocol for the fixing of typo's? There's a couple I've spotted on others articles, and I've been tempted to fix 'em but don't want to step on anyone's toes. Would I be better of PM'ing the person, or am I cool to just fix it?

Grand Final 1945 review is now complete!

I had a ball researching this - but I reckon I'm done for a few days now. Will have a crack at another year in the next couple of days.

Bob Chitty epitimoses the never-say-die and f*ck the odds attitude that I reckon makes Carlton great.

Anyone know where we can draft a Chitty now?

Deano, basically nobody 'owns' any page if you see any typos or anything else you think you can improve just go ahead and change it. :-D

Cool, will do.

If I could only remember when and where I saw them!
