Feeling Blue?

Need somewhere to wallow?

Then take a visit to the Happy Hidey Hole that is the Blueseum.

Remember the good times, the 16 premierships the champion players.

Wallow, wallow, wallow.

Jarusa! ....you come from Tatura?

Where Warby went after Carlton!

Where his son Peter came from to play with us.

I think Warby became a very good lawn bowler up there?

Remembered to ask mum about Keith Warburton today.

She said my (late) granddad and Warby were good mates, and she also went to school with Peter. She reckons there are pictures of warby in his very early playing days in some of our old photo albums. Warby's grandson is playing for Tatura at the moment.

Hopefully she can dig the photos out and scan them.

Keith is very well known in town apparently. I have probably met him come to think of it because my Granddad used to take me into the pub that Warby would have drank many times when I was knee high to a Grasshopper. I would never have known he had played for Carlton though.

1995 is now all done - all game scores and goal kickers are up; plus a game summary and occasional memories. That makes 1993-1995 done plus 2003-2005, and I have decided to have a crack at 1996:

Round 5, Eagles, Princes Park, Evans rushed behind or Williams goal:

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php? ... +5%2C+1996

My memory is a little hazy - for anyone there could you please edit this Blueseum reference or add commentary in here for me to include.

If you have some time and some memories of certain games in this era please look in the BLUESEUM and add your memories. One day this will be read by all the school kiddy Carlton fans so it's important we get all the memories down in the net...

great work molsey, any help on these years would be greatly appreciated.

There is another area of the site that would be fantastic if it could be completed.

Team Photos Wanted!

If you look here:

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-browse_gal ... alleryId=1

you can see we have a small collection of 12 team photos, with about another dozen or so to be uploaded.

It would be fantastic to be able to collect a team photo for as many years as possible.

If any of you have old team photos or posters out there could you please scan them or take digital pics of them so we can try to get a complete collection.

If we get close I will make a wallpaper of all the teams that everyone can download which would make an awesome backdrop to anyone's computer.

If you have trouble with uploading the pics, I can do it on your behalf, just send the pics (and any requests for referencing) to my email address at:

jarusa@iinet dot net dot au

Let's see how it goes!!

I have a stack of Premiership team photos. JPEG format okay? I may have some spare time on Wednesday night to scan them.

Jarusa, I have a laminated copy of the 1987 team with all the players stats for the year. I will scan it and send it to you. I'm sure it can be of some use.

Regards

I have 2 books on the 1996 & 1997 seasons by Brian Hansen. Go through all the games in detail + many pics.

Do you think you're able to summarise some of the games for the Blueseum? I've done 1996 up to Round 5, and haven't touched 1997, but it would be great if others had the time to do this for the Blueseum. Please PM me if you need assistance on how to set the game reports up - Jarusa has done a lesson on the site.

While you're there, you could update the Houlihan bio and add some finesse to it...

Ok I've added a bit to round 1 '96 & will try working my way through the rest of the year & '97.

Thanks Blueworld, you're an absolute champ!

Posters, I need to ask you all a favour. The Blueseum needs some meat on the bones for the games that the Blues have played. All we need is some detail, and then it can come to life with player bios and pictures, as Jarusa and I have tried for 1904.

Basically, we have 98 years left to do. 98 years that need some data entry, some insight into the years through scores etc. Edit - 97 years to go - see it's that easy!

xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx Done Molsey 1899 1900
1901 1902 1903 Done 1905 1906 1907 1908 1909 1910
1911 1912 1913 1914 1915 1916 1917 1918 1919 1920
1921 1922 1923 1924 1925 1926 1927 1928 1929 1930
1931 1932 1933 1934 1935 1936 1937 1938 1939 1940
1941 1942 1943 1944 1945 1946 1947 1948 1949 1950
1951 1952 1953 1954 1955 1956 1957 1958 1959 1620
1961 1962 1963 1964 1965 1966 1967 1968 1969 1970
1971 1972 1973 1974 1975 1976 1977 1978 1979 1980
1981 1982 1983 1984 1985 1986 1987 1988* 1989 1990
1991 1992 Done Done Done BW! BW! 1998 1999 2000
2001 2002 Done Done Done (all 'Done's still need your memories!)

What we need - 98 (97) posters to put up their hand and do 1 of the above years. Pick your year. Let's call it Project Easy Up Bam. Let me know and I'll send you the format we use, plus a link to the stats website we use for the data. Each year will take roughly 2 hours of work. All we need is the game score, result, date and ground at this point of time - if you find best players and goal scorers then so be it but at this stage we just need the meat.

Who's with me? C'mon! 97 posters out of 971 registered users - makes for a pretty good stat! My hands up - is yours?

* verbs - did you want to finish off this year?

Sure.

I'll hunt around for extra info, otherwise I'd be happy to just do the meat if I can't find anything else. Actually, I have the GF record from that year so know how many games and goals everyone had for the year. I wonder if that could be worked in some how?

Thanks verbs. Carlton will thank you one day - in fact, that win in Round 20 last year may have been a pre-approved pat on the back JUST FOR YOU!

Will have a chat to Jarusa re: goals / games etc. but if you want to send it to me via fax or email I could get it set up into a table in anticipation of Jarusa's handy work.

ps. It's not that hard - i'm not a techy and have just learned how to do this the other week.

Here's the goss:

I have (in varying degrees of visibility) copies of team photos of every premiership team except 1995 ( :? ) plus numerous other historical copies of photos which date back as far as the late 1880s.

In other words...quite a lot.

I can convert anything into digital format.

How much of this will be useful?

Got a bit side-tracked and uploaded 9 pics of Jezza and 2 of Newton Chandler.

I notice most of the team pics I have are already uploaded...I think?

Might do a few more tonight. Have up to 10 good pics of The Dominator.

What a man Chandler was! A true club legend. Often, the quiet people are the one's who do more for a Club than those who constantly beat their own drum. I've got a lovely pic of him at about 90 years of age I will upload at some stage soon.
