The key is CD and GW. If they feel he is the best person for the job, then ok.
The players should not have a say. It’s like going into interviews and having a team member part of the selection process. Dumb!g

This group, this captain, have burned through three coaches now.

Mutinous cauliflower. It’s not a cheap exercise.

It’ll only get worse, given the nature of this current generation.

I'd rather keogh choose the coach than let the players get involved.

Some nice stats over the last 6 weeks from the guru.

This years game plan is developing nicely, we just need more mental fortitude when the pressure is put back on us.

Thanks Sidey.

That's really good to hear. There were a lot of similarities to Vossy's game plan in our last wins; pity they didnt shine for 4 quarters.

Credit where credit is due. Thanks for your time and effort Vossy. So glad you got rid of Charlie and SOS, and gave us $1.7M of salary cap space.

Now we continue to add the polish needed to his game plan, for prospective stars, and coach in waiting add more value to the team performance.

Sounds really promising Cru.

If the problem is generational its a good thing all teams are made up of this generation.
As for our captain he only has 12 weeks left, as captain. :smoking:

We changed/ added 8 new players this year, 9 new last year, 4 new the year before that.
21 new players.
Surely they were protected from the captain in the VFL program or whilst he was filming Colgate  ads.

He's not the best coach.

I doubt he will ever be an AFL coach. He's a line coach.

Plus I couldn't stomach him. Ratten was trying to educate him with the discipline and toughness required to play at AFL level. Never forget how he refused to put hit the contest (small version of cane Ackland). He got lucky at Tigers, he was able to play loose wing, fill in as decoy ruck, and had the great man Dusty Martin who won the flags off his own boot.

Last night on 360 Ralph showed consistency with his Carlton hate.

When discussing the coaching void at Carlton and Effendopes with the panel, he was on his own suggesting Effendopes were a much more attractive proposition than Carlton for any coach. He said the kids were much better at Effendopes. I can't recall what the kids, other than Caddy have shown.

The other panellists said Carlton because the win halves, quarters and games; the kids at Carlon like Jagga, Dean Carroll and others have shown they can drive the team forward, the kids have got good senior players to support the kids, and they've won the last 2 rounds.

The zero hanger asks for some opinions:

Those who lean to Effendope show their credibility :screwy:

Ralphsmith says Effendopes young core runs deeper. He obviously hasn't had a real look at who is performing and what we have developing, and something about the desire of their youth for high standards (FMD  )

Spencer says Effendopes intrigue him more (what's that?) and are a more challenging prospect, hence perfect for a coach who likes a challenge (FMD )

McIllwaine says Effendopes have bottomed out most, and if Welsh and his boys club doesn't dictate proceedings (FMD  )

Get the best coach.

Spot on.

Also I think it is a great statistical reminder that we have been building to something better, but it just takes time for players to gel, trust each other, know where to run, set up etc etc.
The biggest thing that has changed is their ability to finally hit targets and kick goals, if you can't do this consistently then you will never win.
Just look at that 3rd quarter last week, that could've been a sliding doors moment against a better side.
It is still a very close competition and you are only 5min away from being blown away, look at GWS on the weekend and there are multiple other occasions over the season with multiple clubs.

I think it is also good to remember that the new game style we have implemented this year has been from the whole coaching team, so to think that with Voss gone we are somehow a different side is just delusion. Fraser and the other coaches have been building this game plan all year, it's good to see some results but it is far from finished and we still have holes to fill and mental fortitude to build.

I'm looking forward to see how we go against an inform side this weekend, spewing we don't have Carroll though.

Jon Ralph is not quite as bad as Jay Clark, but close.

Essendon* have shown absolute @#$%&! all this year. I guess if you were a senior coach looking for basically a blank slate they'd appeal.

Someone needed to tell CD and GW that we were on the right track all along and there was no need for change.
