But that Dutch Kid and Cody Walker would be nice.

Indeed it would be very nice to fill that missing key piece of the puzzle: the mobile ruck.

We could call him the Flying Dutchman and pretend no one ever had that nickname before and really piss off Essendon*.

Good posts crane & bonds. If someone mentioned him then I missed it, but I thought Cerra was excellent. Hit the ball at pace with clean hands, good vision to hit handball targets in stride, and accurate kicking with depth and speed.

I thought Cerra was great too.

Seems to have found a yard.
Definitely playing a more physical brand of footy last 2 weeks
He's very strong in the pack, and finds a way (because of his strength) to get a handball out when tackled.

You must be so disappointed that so many people got some joy out of last night's effort.

You are the ultimate Grinch. I get you ranting about EVERYTHING, but your inability to simply say; Well done Coach, Well done players, is rather sad. It shows you would rather live in self-imposed misery than bask in some much needed positive aspects of life, even for a few hours.

Has Carlton under performed for a long time..............certainly. Did supporters love the efforts of Wilson, Ison, Cowan and Carroll last night? They sure @#$%ing did.

You got your wish this week. You got change. You got a spark of excitement from the Team. And yet in your core, the deep-seated resentment still floated to the top.

Sad way to live.

First of all I have saying for 2 decades that the board is the problem. Even further than that the wealthy families pulling the strings behind them.
Secondly I wanted Ison Wilson playing earlier than they have.Good to see them play welland I want Charleston Flynn Young and Derkson in there next
Thirdly I have said that we have some terrific youngsters who can provide us with a future providing that we make some tough list management decisions . When was the last time our reserves were second on the ladder
Trade Weitering Cripps trade delist some guys who have been disappointed like Williams McGovern etc before the compromised 2027 AFL draft

The thing is and you know better than anyone because you worked there is that the club continue to make terrible football decisions because of the board’s interference in football decisions which is due to appeasing the Pratt’s Mathiesons Smorgons and Kerr families
20 years this shit has been going on

And that my friend is the problem . A new coach whoever he is won’t change things.
I wanted this board challenged and chucked out I want zero influence from these families because until that happens nothing changes

Case in point
I have heard that the 3 people on the selection panel are Wright Davies and Priestley for the coaching job
Why should the President be on the selection panel
Shouldn’t someone independent with knowledge and experience in the modern game like a Jimmy Bartel be that third person
I’m a true supporter
I love the club but hate the way it is run by the board and the influential families who have no football acumen
The board was responsible for getting Voss
The board sacked Ratten and appointed Malthouse the worst decision this club has ever made which was due to powerful outsiders having their say

So no I don’t get excited when we win
Good to see young guys playing well
But I’m a realist
It’s a temporary sugar hit
Your entitled to your view of me being a gringe
Don’t care
That’s how I feel

The families have stepped back.
Cook made a lot of unnoticed changes.
Board interference was paramount.

GW has complete control of the on field evolution.
The selection panel has not been set.
Having Priestley involved in the initial panel is no problem.
His presence can only benefit “ process” and give GW confidence he has his back.

Ison and Wilson were picked with a bit of form behind them.
Last year was a bit too early for Wilson. Lucky it didn’t have a negative impact. Timing is everything.
Leave the decisions to those in the know. You have no idea re timing, so just because you want and don’t get is no reason to throw your toys out of the cot.

13 more games to go is ample time to build up Moirs and Byrnes game before a block of games.
Patience grass hopper. The changing of the guard will happen this year.
20 players futures will be decided on in October. Thats 5 months away.

The biggest on field decision is to be made in 3 weeks time. The MSD.
Do we add 2 more new players to consider for our 2027 List?

Voss is gone. The runway is clear. We won a game. We look a more desirable team to FAs Trades and prospective coaches.

13 games and 5 months to change the guard.

I don’t think he’s been 100% fit when he returned from a hammy. Wasn’t fair to write him off as some did. Cerra is a quality player and a keeper.

I disagree with the above about a President being on the panel. If he is isn’t and the coach fails the buck stops with him so Priestly is putting himself out there by doing this.

By all means make it a four person panel and add a ex player.

I watched the game again.
Great to see the boys win.
Nourishment, and good signs from the kids:

Hollands, Cowan, Carroll were absolutely awesome.
Ison and Wilson gave us some spark and some speed and prove they belong.
Smith was amazing in the middle: elusive and the glue in the midfield.
Dean is pretty quick for a big fella. Marking and spoiling a feature.
Kids on every line.

That was after watching the VFL game and kids like Moir Byrne Charleson and Walker shine, and O'Keefe nearly clunking them.

Loved seeing the genuine smile on Weitering when Ison he kicked his first.
Weiters even smiled when singing the song. :smoking:
Prior to those moments, I thought maybe Weiters is just a Doull type introvert, and we are reading too much in him.

Loved watching Harry pull the forward line group together in the last, and direct.
The forwards were such a great pressure group.
I'm not a huge fan of Kemp, but he competes everything like his life depends on it.
Gov was quiet. I thought he presented but didnt quite click for him.

Loved Crippa and Walsh leading the charge with a never say die attitude, blanketing Bont & Co.

Florent Hayward Ainsworth have really turned their games around, and look like sound additions now.

The Saints game was the nail in the coffin for me. If we couldn't lift and win that game, we couldnt lift for anything.
After watching the Tigers and Bumbers play well in recent weeks, I really didn't think we would win another game this year.
In fact, I thought we didn't need to try and tank to end up bottom of the ladder.
The word Tanking was a good excuse for our inability to play 4 quarters, rather than say we are a weak team
Calling it Tanking would also give the AFL the shits proving the new Draft rules encourage Tanking.
Ending on the bottom of the ladder would be no disgrace given we end up with Pick 2 & 3 players in the Draft.

A lot of unrewarded hard work from Hewett proved letting go Kennedy instead of him was the right decision.
Kennedy looked really slow. That made me feel good too.

Proves we don't plan on Tanking with 13 games left to play for 4 points, pride and image.

I am under no illusion we were kissed on the dick playing the Dogs with their No 1 ruck English out, along with the unicorn Darcy, Libba, Weightman and Vandameer. Bont and Richards on one leg, and Williams taken off with a Hammy. We got lucky on the injury front this week.

We could still end up bottom of the ladder, and brag we tanked on purpose  but then again, we are only 3 games shy of making Finals with a 13 games to go and last 8 games played in Melbourne.

Feels great to win. Might watch the game again. In fact might watch both our games to see Derksen and Lewis Young dominate the air again.

Go Blues.

Good balanced summary Bondi.
Pretty hard to find anything to disagree with that.
We definitely got the kiss.

I'm glad Cripps came out and said he was pretty flat this week and then he delivered this kind of performance.
Shows he's still a leader, some others could learn from him.
And it was good to see him actually trouble the scoreboard when they rest him up forwards this week, very Bont like.
Also a good win from the Eagles yesterday.

Good interview from Fraser also, glad to see coaching backed themselves in and are happy we finally put the 4 quarters together without any obvious or drastic changes to the game plan.
It was also a good point about how momentum changes are a lot faster now than before and having a team that has played a lot more games together are able to stop those swings a lot quicker. As many said at the start of the season, it might take a while for the team to gel (maybe not this long).
Also good to hear he said we still have an issue with our centre to forward connection and it is still a focus for them.
I think the last half last week set them up a bit better mentally to run games out and it is amazing what can happen when players can actually hit their targets.
The only concern I still have, is that now we had no pressure to win, we played better football, it says something about the groups mental fortitude.
Clearly something that needs to be worked on, especially against a tougher opponent.
Baby steps.

And yes, I was pumped with some of those kicks from Ollie. 92.9% KE
Good to see he is trying to hit more difficult targets and actually getting them.
2 weeks in a row now, I could be swayed...................but not yet.

And a shout out to Carroll, geez it makes a big difference having a genuine gun winger killing it and it seems to have lifted Ollie also.
100% KE for Carroll from 11 kicks.
Florent also deserves another mention, he killed it and was in everything defensively.
11 defensive half pressure acts with 89.5% KE from 19 kicks.

Go Blues!
