I don't like replacement of a coach mid season. It inevitably ends up with the short term success of a fill in coach that leads to a bad appointment.

Even worse, I am really worried they will appoint Adam Simpson.

First thing I want to see is Simpson on the selection panel so he's off the table as a candidate

No Simpson - No No No No. He looks smarmy and a real smart alec.
No to Hinkley - He failed at Port. Why would we want him.
Longmire. Im not sure. But Sydney wanted new ideas.

We need someone hard, smart and modern.

How you pick the right person. I do not know.

Yeah, it would be good to get Simpson, Hinkley AND Longmire as 'advisors' on the selection panel actually.

As long as the tactician is 2027 smart and not a 2020 smart. The game changes too quickly that we need someone who can adapt in game as well as during the season.

Also the players need a rocket up the proverbial

Isn't that how Dick Cheney got the VPOTUS job?

Just @#$%&! Simpson off entirely. That coffee chat job was a waste of time and money, even I could see that from the start and I'm an idiot.

Hopefully a young untried tactically modern guy from a winning club culture as either a player or assistant (or both):

Corey Enright
James Kelly
Adrian Hickmott
Hayden Skipworth

etc

Funny how the AFL is so reactive. I am also in the get an untried coach camp.

But we did that with Bolton, then Teague and it was, oh yeah, we need an experienced coach, not a first timer.

Recent decades suggest a club's next premiership coach is a newbie, regardless of previous experience.
