I for one am sorry to see it end this way. Not sure a new coach will make any difference.

I might be the only one, but I think that is a shame.

Would've liked to see Michael at least coach the year out, in charge of us winning 11 of the last 15 games after our bad start.

Good Luck MV

Thanks for your time Vossy. You always carried yourself well and have done right to the end. Unfortunately, this club requires someone truly special to turn this shit show around and you weren't the man. Thank you for giving us a glimpse at how good it could be, even if it was just for a golden 3 months

After the worst start to a season in years something had to give, but I can't help feeling that this bunch of crabs we call players have killed yet another coaching career.

All about 2027 now. Find a coach/list manager duo who understand the modern game.

Appoint both by October 1. Cull the list.

High quality individual just not a senior coach.

Had to happen. Been inevitable for way too long.

Wish Vossy well.

Hope like hell GW gets this appointment right.

With the pressure off, we will go on a winning spree.
They’ll reactively appoint the caretaker coach (Josh Fraser?) on a long term contract. And then proceed to forge a new path further down the ladder than ever before…
Then, pay $20m for Lachie Neale to be captain and the saviour (because he was the best player 5 years earlier).
Then wait 5 years to realise that Josh Fraser was never the right guy and probably a Collingwood plant anyway.
And then recruit all the players that the new list boss drafted at his previous club 12 years earlier.
While our leadership focuses on getting the best dick-pics for his mistress.
And the marketing department promotes a 1995 Premiership team reunion targeting Gen Z supporters who’ve never heard of the band Sticks ‘n Diesel!

Seriously, Voss is a great champion and a great leader who can hold his head high in the way he has carried himself. Unfortunately, he was not the coach to lead the club to glory but gee I would have loved him as captain! I do hope he remains in football as an assistant or a commentator.

Now we need to nail the next appointment. All the pressure moves onto GW and CD. (It should be on the Board too…).
I think we need to have the pieces in place asap but at least before finals. It would be great for the new guy to be able to start his work while we are still playing, even if no announcement until after the season.

The right appointment and the appointments that will follow will only happen if the corporates at board level have nothing to to do with the appointment
Sadly this hasn’t happened in the past
Greg Williams should pack his bags immediately and follow Voss out the door because he insisted Voss get the job

Thanks Vossy

You gave it everything im sure.

Loved moments of inspiration like our run to the premilnary final in ‘23 and the way you stood for the club first and foremost. A childhood blue like us all and always a blue.

Go well

a good human, great player. in over his head as a coach but handled this shit show with great aplomb.

austin will be next, and we're making moves to set up for this draft and offseason and make our list competitive.

Popping my tin foil hat on for a moment:

*The revelation that Hinkley had met with Tamania made management realise that, unless we declare we're in the market immediately, we might miss out on someone we want.

*Hinkley was informally offered the Tasmanian job and told he could have whoever he wanted as his assistants. He called Voss and told him to resign immediately to be his assistant - avoid further damaging your reputation, take a holiday and come back ready to go when I need you.

*Voss decided he'd much rather spend next month at the World Cup.

But, honestly... I'm sorry to see him go. Not because I thought he was a great coach, but because it's just another brick in the wall...
Some of our players should feel @#$%&! embarassed today. Another coach they've killed off.

Look employing Voss was silly.

He did the same thing at Brisbane. Players were jaded and all wanted to leave.

Now the same thing happened here.

The nice guy public image, is probably not so behind the scenes.

Voss was an amazing player. But he hasnt got a coaches brain.

We can never get the coach right. So who knows what we will do now.

If we are going to listen to our board then i dont have faith in this.

And why oh why did Wright keep Voss last year. We could have had a coach and started the reset by now. What a wasted year of development and a new game plan.

I do hope we are not silly to keep Fraser if we have a few wins.

And i certainly hope we are not silly enough to entertain trading Weitering, McKay or Cripps either. As the new coach will fail as well. They are having a bad year, but we all know what they are capable of. And they have contracts so we should hold them.

Cant bear to watch Carlton players thrive elsewhere.

it's good timing tbh ... cfc is now first in line to grab the best available coach for the club. and i think GW will deliver.

its eerily similar to his timeline at the pies.

Even with the poor result, I still preferred Voss over Lyon.

Best of luck Vossy.

When we appointed Voss I said, I'm somewhere between ambivalent and excited.

Pretty much sums up my feelings now.

Ambivalent because, well, hindsight says perhaps there was a better decision to make 5 years ago. But I guess we'll never know; noting, our 4-person shortlist was Voss, Kingsley, Gia and Mini.

Excited, because I'm an irrational footy fan so I am hopeful we will discover the next coaching guru and see sharp and sustained improvement. Graham Wright is about to earn his money.
