I am putting all my faith in GW to sort it out.
I would be keen to get Hickmott as an assistant. I would also be keen for Ash Hansen not to be a part of it.
I think Skipworth and Gia sound like they would be leading the list.
The only ex-coach I wouldn't be averse to is - DUCKS FOR COVER - James Hird! He is a nasty bastard who knows the game well and communicates well.

TBH, I am officially mystefied. I thought I had it sorted last week - we play a strong brand that is unsustainable like Usain Bolt trying to run an 800m. HOWEVER, that was blown away by the first 10 mins of the second quarter when there is no way we could have already all been gassed!

Maybe it's like that weird movie 'Get Out' where the stirring of a tea cup triggers a hypnotic reaction and we suddenly stop leading and start bombing? Probably, triggered by when my wife watching the game on TV gets up and moves to a different spot...

Carlton 2017-2021 - Assistant Coach - Green Shoots
Brisbane 2021-2026 - Midfield/Stoppage Coach - Two premierships

I think I would just keep saying "Cam Bruce has gone mad, Cam Bruce has gone mad"

I’ll offer up Mark Stone as a viable candidate.

We are a loser club though. Lots of weak sauce and copium in the staff ranks.

If we take out the fade outs in each game then we win all games and are undefeated at the top of the ladder.

To my mind the coach is the one that moves the chess pieces around. Cripps, Hewitt, Walsh and Cerra are good midfielders, but they run out of gas in the second half. Pitto too gets tired.

We either need fitter midfielders or we need more rotations. Fitness comes in the pre-season. That is past now. So we need more rotations. Cripps and Hewitt were constantly at the centre throw up in the last quarter. They were done, they couldn't get near it or they gave the ball to the opposition. This setup needs to change.

I wouldn't sack Voss yet. Brisbane lost their first three in 2024 and then went on to win the flag. Voss needs to turn it around though. The jungle drums are beating.

Problem is we have won 11 from our last 37. Game plan hasn't evolved and is very taxing.

Interesting Jack Ginnivan said last night Adrian Hickmott was easily the best coach he's come across. Well worth a look. Just that I'd hate to see our blokes ruin a great Carlton player's coaching career....lol.

I'd do it now while there is some life in the season. No good when 2 and 8. We went from winning 3 from 43 under Bolton to winning 6 of the next 10 with Teague, 2 losses by a kick, so it can create a spark. Have to be a caretaker of course this year but some spark is better than watching us keep racking up losses.

GW and CD need to identify the 'next best' coach who can reinvent our game and is also forceful in changing our culture.
I don't care who it is, as long as they have these 2 ingredients.

I have 2 questions for those who want Voss out ?
1. Who would you replace him with ?

2. And more importantly, who in their right mind would take the job on ?

Name one coach who you predicted on his way in “he’s going to be a Premiership coach one day before he was recruited to the club where he became the coach of a top 4 team?

my only correct guess was a lucky guess about Fly. i knew nothing about him, but just liked that he was a bit left field c.f. the big name coaches and he played in a great side. So did Voss though :-)

Adrian Hickmott for me. Senior assistant for best coached team in the AFL, ex-Blue and universally loved by all. Ginnivan just called him the best coach he's ever had

Hawthorn has 3 of our ex players on their coaching team of 6, that is half.
If we are going to go down the path of a new head coach and it is one of them, then I hope we poach the other two while we are at it.
Bring them home.
But I'm not sure if that moves the needle on A grade player acquisitions though or how much difference it will make as our list has a few too many holes in it.
And we defiantly don't have the personnel to play like the Hawks if we did get them.

He's been on my radar as an assistant for 10 years.
He must be developing well working and learning a lot having worked under Simpson and Mitchell.

I'd like to know from Ginnivan.

Is Hickmott Ginnivan's line coach?

Whatever, he must have learned a few tricks from Master coach Sam Mitchell. He influenced a lot of Clarkson's moves in their threepeat, effectively coaching on the ground.

If Hickmott has an eye for the game like Sam Mitchell, then he's on my coaching radar too. I like Left Field. The other, not so left field is Skipworth.

Feel we will move on from Voss, unless a miracle happens, like OFarrell returns, Cowan and wilson give us run from backline, Lewis Young becomes our No 1 mobile ruckman taking marks around the ground and feeding the mids, HOK provides excellent support for Lewis and starts marking and kicking goals, Smith Williams and Walsh click in the midfield and start kicking goals, Carroll starts kicking goals from the wing, Forwards kick straight at goals, and we start linking and hitting up leads working the ball forward for Haywood, Ainsworth and Byrne to kick 6 goals every game. Obviously we stop going into our shell and keep playing winning footy for four quarters.

I'm dreaming....and besides that, Walker will cost us 2 first rounders if my dream happens ... but we become a destination club for A Graders and FA's.

Bailey Humphrey anyone? What currency will we have to get him if Walker costs us 2 first rounders? Continue the dream ....and Humphrey demands a Trade to Carlton for 2026 2nd rounder and 2027 first rounder.

Just a small beef, I see this everywhere. 'Defiantly' means to act in a rebellious way. 'Definitely' means that you are sure.

It's my lack of 'comprehension' at it again.
Just kidding, it's a typo without read glasses on.
But yes.......we definitely don't have the right personnel.

Would be ironic if the only Geelong player that fired a shot in the 1995 Grand Final - ended up being the Carlton Coach that got us to number 17.

First time coach. Not Longmire, not Adam Simpson, not Hinkley.

But more focus should be on recruiting and list management.

@#$%&! him.

I used to feel the same way about Gregg but if he’s the best candidate we appoint him.

Wright will not have an issue with past history
Greggs good for a few sausage rolls.

I  this.
